More interesting question would be what was list price and what did you get it for?

I think the list price on my car was around $28k
Being how I bought it for ~$2800, I guess I feel pretty good
(Albeit 10 years and 90k miles later)

Far more important is the cost of ownership. I always buy new, drive them for 250,000 miles (around 12 years), rinse and repeat. At 12 years the rubber o rings and seals start to go bad and the peripheral parts start to break, sucks but that's the way it is.

~$2500 for my first (and only so far) car
Most I would pay is about $15000 (for something used - wouldn't buy new).

2003 Dodge Intrepid:
Sticker: 23k ish
Paid: 17k ish
(1% below invoice - $1,000 supplier discount - $3,000 mfg. rebates - $1,000 dealer match)

2003 Dodge Durango:
Sticker: $32,250
Paid: $22,700
(1% below invoice - $1,000 supplier discount - $4,500 mfg. rebate - $1,000 dealer match)

briefly worth more than I paid after driving them off the lot! ;)

In 2003, working for an automotive supplier and buying from Chrysler had their advantages. Of course, the resalevalue drops like a rock when they do stuff like that.

Those were some amazing deals! GM, Dodge, and Ford were giving away vehicles in 2003.

$800

1990 Toyota Tercel, 158k when I bought it, 179k now.

It was a bad buy, I've put 2200$ into it since I bought it, mostly on routine maintenance stuff that previous owners had obviously neglected to do.

Hopefully it will be reliable for some time to come now. *knocks on wood*
