Hehe, well, how tall are you and how much do you weigh? I know it's harder for a tall guy to bench as much as a short guy. I'm 6'4" and the most I every did was 265 x 4 and I'm about 15 years younger than you ;) :p :D
A little under 6'1"

I don't do max lifts anymore. At 37 I'm just too prone to injury to be trying something that has no fitness value whatsoever, but is a huge risk.

As of late i'm doing 265-275 lbs for 6-8 reps for my two heavy sets of flat bench.

Quite impressive for your age

I do that and I'm 50.

Yeah, but we're not all studs like you. :D
True dat;)

I remember that you ran out of breath while shoveling snow :D

Pfft, if Red or myself are using 'roids, we need to get a fscking refund. We may be big among this crowd, but we're tiny in any muscle head gym.

No kidding. I'v plateaud (sp) at the weight I'm at now and I really don'y care. In fact it just makes chest day easier.

I have, too. The only way for me to keep gaining is to up my calorie intake by close to another 1000 calories a day. I tried it for a few months but I just don't like eating when I'm not hungry. So I think I've reached my limit.

now after working and family, havent tried maxxing out in fear of hurting myself, but i can do 4 sets of 10 at 135, but i weigh in at 155 now. :(

I don't see how that will give me a better picture, they could be doing 200 or 300+. I think any average guy who works out could do 200, but you gotta be really serious about it to be doing 300

dunno. haven't maxed in over 4 years. I know I'm a good bit stronger now than I used to be so if I had to guess it'd be somewhere between 175-225 (I'm 6'00" tall 165lbs)

At 39 and 5'-8 200 lbs. I do 295 for about 6-8 reps. I havent done a ORM but I would imagine its about 320-325.

Back this past summer I was up to around 315 for 6 reps. I have lightened up the weight a bit, and took a month off, to try to help my shoulder. After doing some basic rotator cuff exercises, my shoulder pain is almost gone and I plan to begin upping the weight again.

Hey, I do squats too, 315, and I'm 5'9". It seems to me that not many ppl do leg workouts, at least not in the gyms I've been to. New poll?

I'm currently doing sets of 245x6 as my fourth set, which puts my rough guess on max at somewhere around 290 or 300. I've been able to bench 275 the last time I maxed which was about three months ago.

Its not bad, but its nothing spectacular. my bench is proportionaly one of my weakest muscles, along with my bi's...funny, the two muscle groups the average non-serious weight lifter puts all their time into. The 'beach muscles'.

Last I checked, 297.5x11, so not a clue as to my one rep. Kinda weak in compairion to some people, but also kind of short (5'8 1/2" shorter than most). Is it just me or should there be a how much can you squat thread?

I take it being 80 years old you don't hear people every january saying 'man i got to get to the gym to look good for the beach at spring break', and have them go work their chest and bi's.

old man, tread not where you do not understand.
