The most i benched was 155 and I weighed 115lbs then so I guess that was pretty decent.

For bench, it'll always be the barbell.

I worked out after posting in this thread early afternoon and I think I'm getting better. On Friday, I benched 225 x 4 with some help at the last rep. 225 x 4 with no help at all today, give me a beer :)

310-320...I'm hesitant to try and find out exactly how much for fear of screwing my shoulder all to hell, though.

310 before I started hs football earlier this year. Weigh about 185. I wish I would have taken some kind of protein shakes or something regularly. I tried them once, but almost threw up because of the chunks, etc... O well

hey that's not bad at all. i am about that build (5'6 155ish), but most of it is flab.

Its not bad, but its nothing spectacular. my bench is proportionaly one of my weakest muscles, along with my bi's...funny, the two muscle groups the average non-serious weight lifter puts all their time into. The 'beach muscles'.
LOL Beach Muscles:roll:

I take it being 80 years old you don't hear people every january saying 'man i got to get to the gym to look good for the beach at spring break', and have them go work their chest and bi's.

old man, tread not where you do not understand.
I understand that you are a half pint lying little piece of sh!t.

What kind of muscles can one develop in 3 or 4 months? I understand that you've stated before that you've gained over 35 lbs of muscle in under a year but I just figured that was another of your tall tales seeing that would be more than 1/5 of your whole body weight.

BTW little man, doing chest exercize works more than just one muscle group as does most compouind exercises.

Hrm, all I do are dumbbells, 60-70# 3 sets of 8. Only been lifting for about a year. Can bench 200# incline on the machine but that doesn't really count.

On the bright side I was a flabby 212 36" waist L shirt 15 months ago. Now I'm a semi-flabby 193 33" waist M shirt, should hit 180-183 easy once I start cutting in a couple weeks. Been lazy all winter, just lifting to bulk up.

Actually what I'd stated was that I'd put on about 20 pounds in my first year of lifting at school. I've put on about 35 in the 2.5 years I've been here. If you don't believe me because you're old and don't remember what its like to actually be able to build muscle anymore, well, that's your problem, not mine.

And are you serious?? You mean to tell me bench hits other muscles??? Those wouldn't include the sternal & clavicular head of the pectoralis major(different focus on which head depending on flat/incline/decline), the pectoralis minor, the anterior deltoid, and the triceps, would they?

Get the fvck out of here grandpa. You're just too easy.

Let's see a pic. 35lbs of muscle added, especially on a short skinny dude would make you one ripped Mofo.

LOL, he says "school." All this is, is a case of a kid filling out and having his final growth spurt.

No one bulks up 20 Lbs of pure muscle in one year unless they either are having their teenage fillout/growth spurt or they are chemically enhanced.

Deeko, how much did your height change in that time?

He did in the thread where he first mentioned the weight gain. I remember people calling him on it and he foolishly standing by his claim.

Now he acts as if he's some kind of fscking expert. Hitting the gym for a couple of years with your frat buddies doesn't make you an expert. I would hate to see someone get discouraged from weight training based on the BS Deeko spews.

Amused, I'm referring to college. I haven't grown since 9th grade.

I told you, its been 35 since I came to college, up to NOW. It was about 20 freshman year. Of the 35, maybe 5 of it has been fat. If that.

The body continues growing, either up, or out, until you are 22-25.

My shoulders became much wider in my early 20s. Not muscular, but the bone structure changed. This is normal. It was such a change that the Army shirts and jackets I was issued just a couple years before fit me like I got them as a little boy.

Deeko, your body structure obviously chaged between those two pics. That happens at that age. The chest fills out and the shoulders become wider. Mine happened in my early 20s and added signifigant weight to me.

No doubt you filled out with a bit of muscle, too. But you have to realize a person is still growing and filling out in their late teens and early 20s.
