...hell, i have a dvd burner and a 120mm fan i bought about 3-4 weeks or so ago that are still sitting on a table in my computer room...the old me would have installed them immediatley after ripping open the package...now i just don't really care anymore...

You think that's bad, I have a SCSI controller and 15Krpm Seagate Cheetah that's been sitting a foot from my computer for nearly 6 months now. :p

I'd gladly take that off your hands for ya. :D

you and me both...i'd only let it sit around for a month, tops ;)

I get about 70% of my news and information and 60% of my entertainment off the internet. So my computer is running and online all the time.

Yeah I know that feeling, been spending way too much time on PC. I quit gaming like a year ago. I dont even build rigs or upgrade anymore. Just screw around with linux here and there and play Enemy Territory sometimes. I do however watch alot of movies on PC but no tv. Ive learned ALOT but sometimes feel like I should be a little more productive.

Same here I will play the occasional (once every two weeks) console game, but that is it.

he, I had an apple IIc.

I loved the Ultima games, too. What ever happened to the Ultima series, is it still going?

Short version: Computers are my career so it's kind of hard to get along without them. I still manage to have a good social life (bars, clubs, women, BBQs, etc.) even though I play on my PC as well. You just have to find a balance between your social life and your time with your PC.

well i played doom3 maybe 20 minutes. seemed more like a highly repetitive chore than fun. mostly after a while u've played all the game types you like, and the new ones are just retreads with better graphics and a few gimmics, not enough incentive to waste time on.

Yep.. rarely play games anymore.
I've been using the same motherboard for three years.
Don't really care about computers much anymore..
I actually didn't know about dual core P4s and Athlons already out for benchmarks until three days ago.

watching a movie or reading a book is more rewarding, atleast theres a decent chance of a good story, and a good ending. so many games just cop out with endings so they can have sequels, destroys incentive to soldier on.

I am actually lusting after the new dual core 'experience'... looking forward to being able to rip my DVDs without the computer slowing to a crawl.

I haven't played a game in months and I don't really mind. I downgraded my desktop from a 2500+XP to a P3 866. Ehh... It doesn't really matter.

I feel the same way. I'm thinking about taking up offroading as a hobby. :)

Exactly. Games seem more like a chore and mind-numbing waste of time, than fun to play.

I can't say the same but then again I'm really just addicted to the internet more than computers in general

As soon as finals are over I'm buying a new bike so I can get out this summer and get some execise, it's been far too long.

it's called moderation. being too obsessed with any one thing may make you lose interest. whether it be a girl, a car, a computer, a game. I played computer games in high school, yet managed to have friends, parties, girlfriends, and other hobbies. Sometimes i tend to play a game too much or spend too much time on my computer, but then i just go do something else.
but i don't think i'll ever become completely disinterested in computers. unless i get too old to play games.
