30-40 at the moment. Though I'm sure I'll be putting a LOT more in once I get teaching. I'll never touch my record from when I worked security at the hospital though: 115 1/2 hours a week for almost a full month.

Shit...I see where this is going. :) I thought you made the decision to take the job and move?

Even considering my current cakewalk, I would take a job that required more hours if the compensation was worth it...that's really the important question...are they compensating you appropriately for the hours. Do it now before you have the wife/kids/etc and it will pay off later.

would i again you mean? Probably not. last week i worked 70 hours with 40 hour pay due to being salary. That OT would have been something sweet. I do get paid almost double what i got paid when i was hourly BUT i have much more responsibility and deal with company sensitive material all day.

Officially 35 hours (summer "internship") since I don't get paid for lunch. Realistically, I do about 5 hours work a week, and surf for the rest. I hide the browser when people walk by, but I shouldn't have to; I practically beg my supervisors for work and get nothing. Meanwhile, my employer is cutting the budget to essential expenses and improvements. Oh, and I got b!tched at for staying overtime for free twice, so my attitude is ..l.. to them. If you're wondering, I'm there purely for the money.

edit: I am supposed to work 4x10 hour days. I usually come in around 10, take a 60-90 minute lunch most days and leave around 6:30-7. That's about 30 hours each week except Mondays I usually get in around 11 and Thursdays I leave by 5 so that's down to 27 hours. Of that time I probably spend at least 15 hours on ATOT and 10 hours surfing various other sites, paying bills, etc. So maybe about 2 hours of actual work per week. Seriously. This week I think I have sent 3 emails and that's pretty much it. Since last week I have needed to walk down to the server room, go in the lab, open the tape library to remove some stuck tapes and I haven't done it. It's taken me longer to type this response than all of the work I've done this week.

And if you knew how much I was getting paid for doing this you would be very, very pissed. :)

do we work at the same company? :)

This year i've seen a few movies on opening day at 1st showing (Fri noon). And no, i didnt take off from work. :D

I stay around 15-30mins everyday doing stuff. Sometimes 45-60mins a day.

Another 3-6-8hrs a week at my parents takeaway also.

Enough to get the work done which is between 40-60/week. I usually average a bit over 50. When I first started I was required to work 55/week and didn't really mind.

Average of 36 in 12 hours shifts, but since we have to work some weekends it could be 24 one week and 48 the next.

In the time that I was supposed to be at work today but wasn't, I probably made more than you make in a week. How does that make you feel? :)

I average 12 hour days / 5 days per week. I try very hard not to work on weekends but sometimes I have to work on tender estimates and then it can easily be 80 hours per week.

he deals out the drive-thru window. if you order a big mac with 3 packets of ketchup and 2 packets of mustard and a sesame seed bun for the top and bottom, you'll find a little baggie of "sugar" at the bottom of the kids meal bag. so methinks he does alright. ;)
