How many hours do you work per week?

How many hours am I at work or how many hours do I actually do work? Very different numbers. :)

edit: I am supposed to work 4x10 hour days. I usually come in around 10, take a 60-90 minute lunch most days and leave around 6:30-7. That's about 30 hours each week except Mondays I usually get in around 11 and Thursdays I leave by 5 so that's down to 27 hours. Of that time I probably spend at least 15 hours on ATOT and 10 hours surfing various other sites, paying bills, etc. So maybe about 2 hours of actual work per week. Seriously. This week I think I have sent 3 emails and that's pretty much it. Since last week I have needed to walk down to the server room, go in the lab, open the tape library to remove some stuck tapes and I haven't done it. It's taken me longer to type this response than all of the work I've done this week.

And if you knew how much I was getting paid for doing this you would be very, very pissed. :)

8 hours a day * 5 days = 40 hours/week

No more, no less

56-60 hrs per week here in the lab. I get paid for 20hrs, but if I want to get my thesis done the way my advisor wants it, I get to be here in the lab a lot!

Fewer than 40. When we have a release going out I usually work a few more than 40 the week of the release, because we have to prepare everything and we have to deliver releases on weekends when our customers aren't using their servers. My manager lets me take unofficial comp time when I have to do that.

I'm a lot more productive than my coworkers, so even if I work fewer hours than them I still get more stuff done. I come in after 10 so when I leave in the evening the traffic has died down. Yeah, it's a 10 minute drive, but I hate it when traffic turns it into a 15 minute drive.

8 hours a day 5 days a week plus one weekend a month of 9 hour days.

That comes to an average of about 44.5 hours a week.

Right now I am working between 60 and 70. I had a couple of people leave recently so I had to pick up the work they were doing. It should be all sorted out soon thankfully as I just hired two new guys.

Now I just need to train them....

There's an italian place in Warren by the A&P, La Figaro we go to all the time. There's an Afghan place not far from there we go to a lot (that place definitely takes 1+ hours)...3West off 78 (probably going there for dinner tonight). Those are the places we hit the most regularly. There's a really good italian deli, A&G, in that shopping center we pickup sandwiches from when one of the other consultants has something going on...good stuff there as well.

37.5 hours. That is pretty standard in the insurance industry.

Whenever I travel (about once every 2 weeks), I "work" more due to early flight and late nights with brokers.

Shit...I see where this is going. :) I thought you made the decision to take the job and move?

Even considering my current cakewalk, I would take a job that required more hours if the compensation was worth it...that's really the important question...are they compensating you appropriately for the hours. Do it now before you have the wife/kids/etc and it will pay off later.

Normally 40, but since switching to mornings, there are part timers to covers my shift in between their classes, so I'm averaging 6 hours per day. Yay state comp. :D

I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.
