Let's face it, if you're not having sex by the 3rd date the relationship probably isn't going to go anywhere.
This girl definitely falls into the catagory of "dating for building a relationship." Like I said, I've been separated for 9 months and have had some fun during this time but this is the first girl that I could actually see myself with in a committed relationship. And I'm pretty sure she feels the same way. She's 27, never married, done the dating scene for a while and looking for something substantial or something that could develop into that. I'd like to believe she would be totally fine with waiting beyond the 3rd date. We're going out on Thursday and I just can't even fathom sleeping with her yet. Not that it wouldn't be great but I just like her too much and don't want to add that dynamic to our relationship yet.
you have alot of hang ups about this. you come off very insecure. You should explore this some more and owrk it out.

my currewnr girlfriend im with, we have been together 2 years this march. We waited 3 months before we had sex. I dunno why most of you guys want to rush into sex so bad? This is a really tricky one - I'm in a very similar situation myself. Met a new girl for the first time two weeks ago. We are definitely taking things slowly - we went out last Monday and again on Saturday for a full day. Both dates went very well. Saturday night we had a nice long talk until late at night and she clearly expressed appreciation that I was 'taking things slowly'. I took that opportunity to make it clear that I wasn't in a hurry.
Even still, there is a certain amount of pressure. She's looking for more, but you don't want to give it up too easily. My best suggestion is to wait until she's the one waiting for it and then act. Or even wait a little more. Make sure she not only wants it, but can't wait for it. From that point, whether it's a first kiss or sex (which in that situation can happen in rapid succession), it should feel more comfortable for both of you.
