This is pretty much in line with how I feel about it. I'd much rather take a 2-4 months to really build a foundation, get to know the person and "fool around" but I don't really want a girl that's in to doing the full deed after just a few dates. If she can't wait that long then to be honest, she's really not the type of person I want to have a committed relationship with.

Now back in my younger days, I would have said the exact opposite. 🙂

I understand your point as well. I can definitely see where a lot of women would prefer a guy who takes action sooner than later. Doesn't make her a slut either. I'd just like to find a happy median.

It really isn't. Sex on the 3rd or 4th date doesn't automatically mean shes a slut or that shes had 1 date every month with sex on the 3rd date each time.

I think there's a distinction to be made between dating for sex/entertainment and dating for building a relationship. If you intend to build a relationship with the woman, then you're probably not looking for a woman that wants the guy to take action by the third date. Along those same lines, the "easy" woman is probably not looking for a guy like you who is going to take his sweet time giving her what she wants.

Im not sure I understand what you're saying, but Im not here to brag...

Im mainly saying just because it could be that way in one case, doesn't mean its always the case. A few of my girl friends have only had 1 or 2 partners, but they had sex maybe around the 5th date. I wouldn't call them sluts for that...
 
I have gone out with one girl four times and still haven't kissed her. I have another girl that I have gone out with about five or six times and we have done some smooching and all that jazz, but I'm still standing on first base with her.

Perhaps it is just me, or others like me, I can't quantitate how many dates are required before sex is mandatory but I just go with whatever feels right. I do have a date tonight with Ms. FirstBase and I am going to see about kicking it up another notch.

The last girl I dated was probably a good four weeks before we had sex; not intentional, just how it worked out.

My point is, I think it is hard to have some arbitrary number and in a way is pretty disingenuous to any potentially serious relationship. Assuming, of course, that is your goal.

You implied they may not give it up on the 3rd date with other guys, but with you they would.

But you need to use logic. If the person in questino gives it up on the 3rd date, obviously that's not the first time they've given it up that early.

Ask them about it? If you've only dated this person a few times, how do you know they're telling the truth? You don't.

haha well no I didn't mean with me. I meant in general but my answer for 3 or 4 is just my observation of what people my age consider acceptable now. Perhaps my perspective has just changed because I have friends who, by your guidelines, you would consider "filthy". But I don't see how that can be a definite assumption based on which date they had sex on...

EDIT: I tend to agree with what Babbles wrote...

But on that note you must at least make out briefly on date 2 to be able to seal the deal on date 3 effectively.
 
It depends on the girl if the first thing she wants to do is put out then i leave but after few hours on first date its ok.
