I really try to get 8 though. I end up feeling drained and uncomfortable all day with only 6 hours sleep. I blame this on a mixture of being active and eating unhealthy. If I ate better I could probably get by with less sleep.
I usually get around 6 hours of sleep during the week. During the weekends, I sleep for about 10 hours/night. Whether I dont get enough sleep, or I get plenty of sleep, Im always tired in the morning.
I have a newborn at home so my sleep pattern is a mess.
It has gotten better the past couple weeks.
I sleep for about 2 hours, then wake up for a feeding which keeps me up for about an hour. Then back to sleep for about 4-5 hours.
That is on a good night. A bad night has me not falling back to sleep after the feeding.
