I highly doubt God cares if people question police authority.
God recognizes NO police authority.. contrary to alot of modern day christians who are total statists. God would rather you only recognize HIS authority if anything.

BTW AFAIK most university police have state-wide jurisdiction making them some of the highest ranked police in the state.
You know what, I'll accept that and take one for the team as long as bradruth goes down with me.
God recognizes the need for defense, as it told through many stories in the bible. Police are part of that defense to protect us from those who would choose to hard us.

I'd say the US military does a better job protecting us than city police.
Cops just "police" the people.. which if corrupt or if too many of them can turn into tyranny. The military does true defense.

Honestly, you might have a valid point that the university police were harassing you. It's happened before, and while it's not widespread, it's possible. However, because of your attitude and the way you've responded to just about everyone, your point's been lost, and now things have just degraded into an e-pissing contest. Joy.
If this is how you responded to the situation that got you in trouble, then I can see why the police did whatever it is they did that pissed you off.

I treated them with total respect, I always have done so to police authority.
Called them Sir. Did what I was told, didnt argue.
I believe we give cops the authority to make those judgement calls to shoot people or whatever.
Same thing in Iraq, like the soldiers who shoot people they think could have a grenade or something? They have every right to shoot those people.
We declare war for a reason, if we are going to declare war.. lets give our soldiers the right to defend themselves.
But COPS are NOT soldiers in a declared war and work FOR the people. Big difference.
As I grow older, I lose more and more respect for the police. I'm a pretty conservative guy, but as I grow older I become much more liberal on these issues and have gotten to the point where as far as police authority and brutality is concerned, I completely support the ACLU.
When policing goes beyond policing, thats tyranny.
edit to add- I never said I was better than anyone. But I know ATOT is pretty much a joke/waste of time.. and all of you do too. Its the "fun" place. I didnt expect to be attacked, but did expect the usual moron popping in with his "holier than thou, respect their authori-tay you little welp"-comments.
I was hoping for a real answer from someone with some intelligent knowledge on this subject also.

With all your life experience and maturity one would think you could put together an argument without resorting to childish insults. I've studied policing from both academic and practical perspectives at the same time and have written a wide variety of observations spanning the two. If there's anyone who can question the police from a realistic perspective, it's someone who's been there. I've never said the police are "some godly force that everyone should bow down to."
Do you know anything at all about where I live? You have absolutely no perception of what goes on in my city. It's nice of you to pick me as your outlet for your hatred of all things police. I wonder why you don't bring this up to a cop in your real life.

i dont know abotu you, but our university police is not rent a cop, they are real cops with real powers and POST training.

For starters, you are the one on the defensive. Can you point to where I said I think I'm always right? By not sharing the situation that led to your original question you're allowing people to assume things. My experience is that people don't want to share that sort of situation with others because it negates their argument. Unless you can say otherwise, that's what I'll assume.
I can't even see how what I said is defensive. I said I agree with at least 50% of that sentence. For all you know, it could be the part where I'm the moron, or the entire thing.

If you were innocent, you would be able to prove it. If you were innocent, you most likely would not have been punished. If you were innocent, you wouldn't be so hesitant to tell us what it is that you were arrested for.
