Why did Intel have to name it Nehalem. Damn north Pacific town names.

I thought that was a character in the Book o' Mormon.

No, its a town name still. But why would Intel use a religious word for their codename?

I was there in Prescott for two months last year on business. That pronunciation pissed me off like no other.

My position has always been: It's pronounced the way the locals pronounce it WITH ONE CONDITION: Their pronunciation has to represent the letters that are actually in the word. Thus, Preskit is invalid, and I railed against it the whole time.

In a slightly amusing side anecdote, I actually got into this argument with a guy named "Scott" while I was there, and referred to him as "Skit" throughout the whole debate just to illustrate the insanity at play.

I live in AZ and have had many friends along the way and anyone who lives there call is Pres-Kit, it's become a point of some contention over the years. They're dumb, it's Pres-scot.

The city is pronounced Press-cut. You can pronounce the name of the chip however you want.

If that ticks you of think about how New Foundland is pronounced.

I have always pronounced it press-cot. However, there is this song.

I never ever previously thought of pronouncing it press-kit and, I think, I will continue to call it press-cot.

ok i dont want to be disrespectful to all who think they know everything but just as in other countries and other areas of the states there are different pronunciations of words that are almost identical......the name Prescott is not pronounced the way you would think it is pronounced and it isnt due to dumb or uneducated individuals it is pronounced the way the gentleman's name was pronounced that they named the town after and it is pronounced
pres-kət and if you would care to question it you can simply go to this link and read about it.......sorry to deflate any bubbles anyone may have had...
