I haven't read through the whole thread but just a thought, could he be trying to cover up his acne by trying to grow a beard?

why should he shave?
Right-wing much?Originally posted by: Gurck
Stop being a wuss and punish him if he doesn't shave. If he doesn't like it, inform him of the freedoms one is allowed when one doesn't rely on others to put a roof over their head. Wuss parents are becoming a huge problem in modern society, almost as much as negligent ones :|

Yes, that's not a subjective thing at all. Unwashed beards get nasty, really nasty.Originally posted by: cycochic
When I was a young lady, my mom, rest her soul, had a problem with my hair. She made me have it cut the way she wanted it, when she wanted it done, and I hated that, but I went along with it. Then I'd shave it from underneath where she couldn't tell.
The main thing though, make sure he is washing it, nothing grosser than dirty hair:disgust:

Because the person(s) providing for him want him to.

why do they want him to shave?
The whole reason I'm asking this question here is that I personally don't care whether he has a beard or not, and I want to see if I need to expend my leet parenting skills on this matter, or if I can let it slide - looking for other people's opinions.

They don't. In Badmouse's second post to this thread she said:

I wouldn't go out with a guy that looks like that. To me it shows lack of responsibility and personal grooming. Also, if he doesn't care about himself more than that, what good would he be in a relationship? Just my two cents, I'm a teenager.
This coming from the girl who doesn't want her boyfriend to get a job?????
