How did you select your AT username?

I'm impressed with the creativity of a lot of the usernames on here, but it makes me curious as to how people thought up their handles.

For my name, I was trying to think up a religious figure to poke fun at (other than Jeebus - overused) and figured a random adjective would complete the name.

Post your stories.

I've answered a thread like this 2 or 3 times since I've joined but one more time never hurt.

I didn't have natural gas at the time and it was a week of -40C. Since I had no heat and I am Canadian, Frozen Canadian seemed a good name. I'm just glad nobody had it.

Kadarin was the name of a character in Marion Zimmer Bradley's novel Sharra's Exile.

My names Rick, and my then-girlfriend's sister started calling me Rick-a-dick and it stuck! But somewhere else I signed up with the name (I can't even where) wouldn't let me have it because it "contained profanity" so it became Rikadik.

The End. :)

It's always been the only thing available whenever I've needed a sign-on name.

For some reason, Jon is always taken.

Ack double post.

I think you just took the award for the longest time differential between double posts. Seven minutes.

Hehe, I posted, then hit back, so the stuff that I originally typed in the quick reply box showed up again. I then went off to read something for seven minutes, came back, saw my original message still in the quick reply box, and forgetting that I had already posted it, posted it again.

I like strawberries. They make me happy.

When I first got talked into playing EQ (started with Ruin of Kurnak, or something like that.) I had to pick a character name, I'm huge spider-man fan so I tried spiderman, and it was taken (big surprise) Since I was playing a wizard, I wanted to use SpiderWizard. However, at the time you could only have 9 characters in you name, thus SpiderWiz. The funny part of this story, I didn't notice for two weeks that it truncated the 'ard' for my name. For a long time in EQ my sir name was Ard. Making my full name Spiderwiz Ard .

Real name = Doug
Unfunny people in the 80s called me Doug E Fresh...
That got abbreviated to Def, and it kinda stuck.
Got to the point where I was ready to blow my brains out trying to find a username for stuff like Hotmail and AIM. Out of frustration, I typed DefDC, (DC being my initials) and it worked. I don't think it's been taken anywhere, so it really grew on me.

Funny experience playing the original Unreal Tournament. I won a match and some guy started calling me racist names... Funny, because I was a white guy from Indianapolis. :)

A guy online posted that he was looking for a name for his band. I suggested the name Moshquerade then I kept it as a username.

Mmm roasted rabbit!

I actually formed this name a long time ago on IRC when I kind of wanted to form a more unique name. One of the guys in the channel I frequented changed his name to a Japanese name, so I followed suit. Of course I had to pick something that was a personification of myself, so I chose, "The Lover"... although it turns out a better translation is, "The Fan(atic)"

Only annoying thing is when people call me Aiko, which (to my knowledge) is a girl's name in Japan ~_~.
