California can have good overall economic numbers but we progressives still want a higher living wage, universal health coverage, more affordable housing, etc...

My comment was refuting his claim that the rich were leaving California because that is factually wrong. I think the fact that the poor and middle class are being forced to leave California is terrible, which is why I support better housing policy.

$1.5M of revenue per employee per quarter at the listed companies? So $500k / mo. What do the employees actually see of that? 1%/2% if they are lucky? This seems exploitative if employees can generate that sort of revenue but only see low digit %'s outside of a few outliers.
It has for a long time. Buckets of money are made in CA, but you need buckets of money to live here. Housing has always been very expensive, over the last year or two it's entered the realm of insanity. My house has gained over 150k in value over the last year.
Yesterday I saw gas at $4.79 a gallon in one of the nicer areas.

Things that happen when you encourage massive employment growth and don't plan basically at all for the humans who will work those jobs to have somewhere to live.
Worse than that, you actively ban the construction of places for them to live.
It’s funny to me how people in California constantly complain about how expensive it is to live there but don’t spend any time considering if their favored policies contribute to that.
