It depends on who replaces him. If he is a Republican I will be depressed because that will mean another four to eight years of Bush's policies.

If he or she is a Democrat, I will be able to breath a sign of relieve that I have not felt in seven years.

Do you honestly think there's a difference betwen the two parties?

Gore would not have invaded Iraq.

Evidence of this?

Also, I didn't realize that Gore IS the Democratic Party.

I will amend my statement: I do not think Gore would have invaded Iraq.

Terrible. He's been the best president in years. He has protected us from another terror attack for 6 years. The bend over surrender monkey democrats would have tucked tail long ago and instead of fighting terrorists overseas, we'd be seeing the war rage here. He has stood up against anti-christian establishments, isn't afraid to do what's right (e.g. Gitmo) and puts common sense above overly anal-retentive legal guidelines such as waterboarding and wiretapping, none of which are used against American citizens but terrorists/insurgents. I think he's been awesome. He has saved the country from a recession despite the post-911 tmosphere and hasn't bent to the Europeans on anything.

LOL, both the Nasdaq and S&P are below the levels they were when Bush took office in 2001 and the Dow is up less than 15% in over 7 years. My savings account has done far better than that.

You want to talk records, how about record debt with BushCo adding nearly 4 Trillion to the future debt of this country at a time when SS/Medicare are setting up for a bust. How about adding to the size of government like no other in decades and expanding programs like Medicare Prescription Drug program by nearly 1 Trillion dollars. Nothing fiscally conservative about that Neocon.

I, for one, cannot wait until that prick and his little bastard Cheney are kicked to the curb. To bad, as others have said, it's not in handcuffs. I don't care who is coming into the WH, they absolutely cannot be as bad as the bastard that's leaving it.

On the bright side, change is coming. And that's something to (hopefully) look forward to.

100% Ditto!

I wonder if this is how Mr Bush will be viewed in thirty years.

Interesting. Did you think that about the last "lying sack of Sh!t" that occupied the office?

Shouldn't you be putting plastic on your windows, stocking up on food, drinking water, etc. for the inevitable terrorist attack that is coming after your "heros" leave office?

I HIGHLY doubt it :) He is, in fact, an abomination to the office from a competence standpoint.

IMO there has been Presidents who havent done much during their term to help the US such as Carter, but Bush has done permanent damage.

He's like a bad tenant, he pissed on the carpet, took sledge hammers to walls, broke out windows.

I cant think of a single issue he campaigned on that he has followed through on with the exception of killing lots of people.

Relieved beyond words, and looking forward to having a real diplomat in office as opposed to a weak-minded puppet who has disgraced my country.

Heres hoping we get something more than the text book example of incompetence next time around!

I see light at the end of the tunnel. It has been hard sitting on the sideline watching this train wreck.

I will be relieved as hell.

It will be somewhat of a relief but would feel a whole lot better if he was to be either exiled from the U.S. or tried at the Hague like Saddam and met the same fate along with every single supporter that voted to keep him after it was evident how bad he was for this country and the world.

Voting him in once was excusable, keeping him there was not.

Except that despite all the bad he has done none of it is as bad as a blow job in the Oval Office.

Bush could have avoided the Iraqi war if he wanted to but he wanted to invade Iraq.
And to compound his mistakes:

1. He did not fight the war with the right number of men or equip them with the proper equipment.
2. Bush did not have a viable plan in place for pacifying Iraq after its military and government collapsed.

The US and Iraq will be paying for Bush's cluster fuck war for at least the next two or three generations. Thanks George!

I went through some of Mr Bush's failures because some people in this thread seemed to be in denial about this or think he did not do such a bad job of it.
Some of you really need to get a grip on reality.

Vietnam lasted longer, cost a LOT more money and resulted in 58,000 dead and on top of that resulted in wide spread protest marches across the country and even the use of National Guard troops on college campuses. Despite all of that it did not take us 'two or three generations' to recover.

I'm not apologizing for the votes. I don't regret them.

Given that we'd have been stuck with Gore or Kerry, it was a pretty easy choice.

The fact that we did not learn from Vietnam and your heroes started another Vietnam does not bother you at all?

The Dow hit its record high in 2006, and even now is higher than the previous record, set in 2000.

Consider that when Slick left office, the economy was heading towards a recession, that's not too bad...especially with everything else that's gone on during that time.
Nasdaq also hit its record high while Bush was President. But stocks go up and down. You can't take a snapshot of one particular time period and apply that to someone's entire tenure.
