I heard at least one Republican will not make the pledge.

On a side note it strikes me that the Speaker disaster was the product of a race to draw the most media attention to themselves by the worst of the assholes in the Republican congress by proving themselves capable of throw the biggest hand grenades into the democratic process and that the process backfired spectacularly. Now the whole Republican side of Congress are drawing equal attention as such total incompetent imbeciles that nobody can personally distinguish themselves. Perhaps some additional attention can go to those who start murdering their fellow members.

Maybe they can vote on who gets stabbed first.
Not true. Scalise is hardly an attention whore. And as much as Gym panders there are still far worse that fits your description. This clown show still hasn’t gotten shit all over the walls yet.

I don't think that's true - I think it's that they hate their domestic political opposition (the Democrats) so much that they are willing to side with any group that's against the Democrats, even if Russia's larger goal is the destruction of the US.

Of course it would be nice if Republicans took a step back and asked themselves why the Russians think electing Republicans will accomplish their goal of destroying the US, but I'm not holding my breath.

step back?

Dude they're not wanting to own the libs anymore.. they want to use their guns on the libs!

Following their process, Sessions is out and a vote will be redone. Keep dropping the lowest vote getter and revote until someone has the majority. But, with 216 voters, and with 6 not realistically voting, then there is a possibility of not reaching a consensus.
Yeah, 1 voting present and 5 voting against all of the above = no election without democrats.

So a 3rd candidate will waste another, week or so?

We're headed for a shutdown because one side is full of children.

remember: this is all the dems fault.

one of these shits was on NPR this morning making sure that everyone understands that these "rogue republican freedomcaucasers" were hurting the country by siding with the democrats to oust their precious leader.

It's amazing how journalists aren't holding them accountable to those lies, every fucking time they utter them. I'm sick of this shit. It's time to understand that actual journalism is about holding liars accountable for their obvious lies--you can't just allow them to say whatever they want. That is actually less than fair to the people. You have to explain the truth to the people, every time these fuckers lie like this, and you have to waste no time in explaining their lies when they are in the same room, with the cameras rolling.

There is no such thing as "fair and balanced" when one side is simply lying about everything, based entirely on the insane fantasy worlds that they concoct in their brains. You can't govern people from the world of fantasy. Republicans must be brought to heel and forced back into society. Burn them all the fuck down if they keep refusing to do so, like little bitch toddlers.

Umm

bwhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
If Emmers is real close when they have the real vote, the Dems should grab this opportunity to switch a few votes to get him in. He did not vote to stop the elector vote. He's the only one in the running. Not sure how if can be done. I know, I know, he took a bow to Trump yesterday, but in their crazy world that's the only way he can get a chance. You do all realize this is all of Trump's making.

What would that achieve?

- Yeah that really caught my ear.

Not the first time I've heard it, either from a Pub Congressperson or out in the wild, so it sounds like the Pub narrative on their own dysfunction is coming together in an it-would-be-comical-if-it-wasn't-actually-happening kind of way by just blaming the Dems again.

Heard McCarthy singing the same song while out on errands today.

Also that one of them Rs said the same thing would have happened if it was Pelosi on the chopping block, not a single R would vote against their party.

So it's tit for tat. Created by the minority rules set up sometime around 2008-2010. May have even been Gringrich's era.
