Honestly I'm shocked that they haven't nominated Alex Jones for the position. :p

Anybody into predictions for '24 yet? Will Real Americans stand up?
You know how the Dumpster is leading in national polls against Biden? I really think it's all one big head fake, even if I have no idea how it's been organized. 2024 will be the end of the Rs in their current incarnation - at the very least.

Tens of thousands of young women have registered to vote since Dobbs and I'm willing to bet there aren't a lot of Trump voters in that cohort.

I actually think that "polling," as a scientific process is deeply flawed. The traditional pollsters haven't been able to adapt to the new media environment and must be using call lists from the 90's.

Who even has a landline any more? Well, I do, but at least it's VOIP and not old timey twisted pair.

It was pretty funny seeing Trump's base think Gym had any chance at speaker. Gym as speaker would drive the nation to default, which would trash the stock market and cost a lot of rich people money. The dominant governing principle of this nation is that the rich can not feel pain for any reason whatsoever. GOP representatives know their job is to further enrich the ruling class, and the culture war is just there to get useful idiots to vote for candidates who will cut taxes on the elite.

There were way more than 25 house Republicans who didn't want Gym. But they have to pretend to like him for their base they con to vote for them, and they can let purple district reps be the lightning rods for voting against Gym. The same way senate Democrats use Manchin as a lightning rod for killing popular ideas like the $15 national minimum wage. They can pretend they were for it but were just hamstrung by Manchin.

They were hamstrung by more than Manchin so I don't really know what your whole spiel there is. Its interesting that you can clearly see how Republicans are "fucking things up at all costs, especially if its anything at all popular with Democrats" but still want to blame Democrats. Doubly so considering the wealthy hate raising the minimum wage almost as much as any other single issue outside of closing tax loopholes or raising taxes that affect them. That you clearly see that but want to pull a "both sides" argument out of it is so fucking stupid, that, well, its why we are where we are politically.

Even if Dems had raised the minimum wage, some random asswipe that applied to franchise a fast food restaurant 30 years ago, backed by Ginni Thomas, probably would've sued and gotten the Supreme Court to rule it violates their 1st Amendment rights or some bullshit.

Karma? Let me introduce you Jim Jordan.

Safe word? Ahahaha, you're so funny.

Why would Jim need a safe word? As we've seen from this week, he is obviously politically Jimpotent.

Too bad Jeff Dunham avoids American politics. He could replace Achmed with "Jimpotent the legislative terrorist" (courtesy of Jim Boehner) and make a fortune.

Down side, unlike Achmed, he'd really have to stretch to find anything funny about Jimpotent Jordan.

This is a bit off topic but I'm glad to see Rs opposing Jordan get death threats.

These assholes KNOW for a fact that implied violence is part of Trumpism and they were happy to use it to their advantage for a very long time. Maybe some minds that aren't completely ossified will get the message that this is NOT how we do things.
If MAGAts are going to kill their own because they don’t get the vote they like kill just enough so Dems are back in the majority and we can have Speaker Jeffries

-Which is probably what Pubs want anyway.

They seem far more in their element as the disruptive opposition party that isn't responsible for doing anything other than ranting and railing against legislation.

LOL believing the Democrat party, the party of Clinton, gives a shit about the working class and doesn't play political games. I never miss an election and mostly vote for them and never vote for any Republican since the GOP is worse than the DNC on pretty much every position they're not equal on, but they're still terrible.

ball peen?
Yes, I have a small ball peen. I picked up the head in a 2nd hand store in the 1970's and carved the handle out of a piece of teak I had on hand, which I then varnished. It's rather handsome, ... and useful.

I donno man. I have never seen salary & benefit growth like I have when Bill was President.
You also saw American manufacturing sold out with him granting China most favored nation trade status. You saw him sign the repeal of Glass-Steagall. You saw him sign into law the elimination of being able to discharge federal student loans in bankruptcy. You saw him run on a national healthcare and then abandon it at a time when an ACA like law might have been politically doable with even Republicans like Orrin Hatch and Bob Dole possibly behind it. You saw him keep ultra right wing nut Alan Greenspan chairing the Fed. You also saw him shut down the supercollider in Waxahachie. Could have had the ACA and found the Higgs boson 20 years earlier with a president who gave a shit about anything but the rich but instead we have a party built in his image out of limousine liberals.

All compromises that at the time made sense.

All true. And yet, still a better President than any Republican after Teddy Roosevelt.

You can't be a better President, politically, than the country and the Congress will allow you to be.

Dunham is a conservative leaning libertarian. He avoids politics because he knows if he spoke his mind he'd be canceled in a heartbeat.
