Electing this speaker in a unanimous vote will be really tough to come back from in some districts in '24. I think more than a few seats just swung to the D column (if they weren't already).
My comment was admittedly based on anecdotal stuff I've heard (for most of my life) being here in FL. Biden is apparently every Bond villain rolled into one considering all the stuff that is apparently his fault, while simultaneously being infirm and feeble--it's amazing.
If the voting record doesn't line up with tha that impression, apologies, and color me pleasantly surprised. Most of the optimism has been wrung out of me. I still vote as hard as I can, don't worry

It’s hilarious that media is saying many in the house don’t even know Johnson. They had to google who he was. Moscow Mitch hasn’t even met him before. So going to be awkward the first meeting between the new speaker and Biden.

Don't know how far he'll get but I suspect he'll use the Ukraine aid and the "Blame the Democrats for the gov't shutdown" as bargaining chips to get his pet projects moving forward.
