That's the loophole with newegg. If you RMA for REPAIR and they don't HAVE a replacement, you get a full refund ... and if you ask nicely your shipping fee too -

I always call for any restocking and/or shipping charges to be reversed.. and newegg has always accomodated me. they really are the best in the biz, imo... and many other's, too.

Isnt there at least 4 different DDR2 RAMS deals that are cheaper right now at Fry's.
Agreed some are after rebates, but still there is a couple that are free ship and no rebates and stil cheaper than this.

While those are good deals, like you said, they require MIR's. Some of us buy in bulk, and MIR's don't really benefit us. I have ordered maybe 100 of the 2GB modules in the OP.

Did you meet all the requirements of that rebate? I remember a number of those $10 RAM rebates from eWiz had a requirement that the RAM be on the same invoice as a particular motherboard.

Yes, I met the requirements. This was part of the first batch of $10 rebates that did not require any other purchases.

but that page you link to changes quite dramatically when you include 6400 speed into the search. The original search page you showed include 4200 and 5300 speeds.

only the A-Data brand is cheaper than the E-wiz deal at 6400.

While I am no expert various articles around the net disagree with your feeling. Supposedly the main makers got together and reduced production so prices are expected to rise, I have heard as much as 40% which is still not all that much. Of course the original articles I read around Christmas time said this rise was supposed to have happened by now so who knows...

Anyway, I'm happy with the 8GB of this STT ram I have...
