Uh, what?

Not only is this illegal, but they got in trouble for this not too long ago.

I have not received mine either but have not had a chance to call them yet to gripe about it.

It's not much help but I have my 4 dimms running at 411. I will go farther if/when I can figure out why I can't see any voltage increases when I make adjustments to my bios.

EDIT I'm refering to cpu voltage increases, not ram.

I have 8GB in my Q6600 system running at 3.6, no prob..

So, 400mhz FSB? The memory isn't OC'd, right? :D

Memory is running at 961 on a p5k board. Funny part is that my over priced Mushkin XP pc8500 would not clock this fast

Ordered 4GBs. Should work well with Vista 64-bit that I just got from FS/FT :)

Meh, I have 4x1GB already, and it's usually overkill :D

Thanks for the bump. I'm in for another 8GB @ 34/stick.

You've gotta love the slumping DDR2 market; I'm not holding my breath that 8GB of even slow/bargain DDR3 is going to be anywhere near this price for many months / more than a year to come.

And I'm sure the cheap DDR3 motherboards that are good quality and can take 8GB won't be anywhere near the availability & bargain of these $75 and under nice P35 DDR2 boards we're seeing these days.

The price is good, but I don't know which way to go. $77.75 for 4GB of these, vs $105.93 for 4GB of these. Is DDR2 1000 worth another $28?

Yeah, been saying this for a while, DDR3 just isn't going to get the spotlight for some time. Two big reasons, one, DDR2-800 provides plenty of bandwidth for Core 2's with up to and including 1600mhz FSB. Intel's most popular cpu right, IMO, is the Q6600 running a 1066mhz FSB, and it'll be a while until Core 2's hit 1600mhz FSB.

Two, OEM's aren't using it, simply because DDR2 is cheap and works. None of Dells new models with X38 chipsets are using DDR3, and actually I don't think any of the major OEM's even offer systems with DDR3.

Depends on what cpu you are using and whether or not you're overclocking.

If you are not OC'ing, just get the ST memory. If you are, consider what kind of OC you are looking for. The ST will have no problems getting a Q6600 up to 3.6Ghz (9x multiplier x 400mhz).

Just compute what your FSB should be and divide it by 2, and that should tell you, roughly, what speed memory you need. For example, the Q6600 has a 1066mhz FSB and needs 533mhz memory to hit its stock speed, and as well, an E8400 has a 1333mhz FSB and needs 667mhz memory to hit its stock speed.

I'm looking at getting the Q6600, and would be quite happy if I could get it to 3.6Ghz. I'll get these then. Thanks bamacre!:)

Got my 4GB in the mail yesterday. Great price! I hope they work well with ABIT IP35-E I just picked up from BUY.COM for $65.99.

Be sure & post back once you have it installed. I went with that board too.

I will let you know how it goes. I have read good things about this memory so I'm pretty sure everything will go fine. The only thing holding me up is I have no CPU yet. I am waiting for the next batch of E8xxx CPUs.

I'm interested to see how this goes too.

I'm running 4GB of the STT T8UB2GC5 now (along with 4GB of Patriot in the other channel) in a P5K-E no trouble.

Hopefully the IP35-E will take 8GB of the STT RAM @ 400 MHz no problem with a Q6600.

I don't have a spare CPU yet to test with my IP35 that'll be arriving soon either, so hopefully I can get in on a Q6600 closeout deal online soon since Microcenter is too far away for me.
