There's your problem right there. Up here the bums all freeze to death during the winter, so it keeps their numbers down. We don't have lizards, gators or cockroaches either for the same reason.

You obviously haven?t dealt with to many homeless. He has nothing to loose, I do. I am not going to endanger my family to some crazy homeless guy that can screw with my car and home and nothing can be done. Police don?t even like dealing with them.

At least I got him to move next door.

btw, I must say that I find the constant references to this guy as a hobo rather insulting. bum /= hobo. Hobos are rail travelers, going from city to city, who actively seek work. The hobo creed is not one of freeloading, but of living by meager means, offering help to others in exchange for food or shelter. And as such, a hobo wouldn't be setting up a semi-permanent camp in someone's alleyway. Sure, due to that lifestyle the occasional hobo will likely steal a bit here and there, but it's not about being lazy. Hobos are ones who leave life willingly (often from rather successful, yet smothering careers). There's a simple honor in being a hobo, actually. They even have their own language!

Bums are homeless and lazy b/c they just don't want to deal with life and/or work. Many of them will offer nothing, and only take, take, take. They hang out near malls, drug stores, grocery stores etc... A true hobo wouldn't be caught dead in such horrid landscapes of urban capitalism. This guy is a freaking bum. Please don't dishonor the noble hobo by mislabeling this filthy vagabond as such.

Hm....a hobo cycle. Maybe you can set up turnstiles all around your property, and hook them to generators. Perhaps, like the water cycle, this Hobo Cycle can be used to help solve California's energy problems.

I always thought it would be cool to try to pull the life of a hobo off for a while. Ride the rails from city to city. Live simply and meagerly.

We had a homeless guy near my house just recently. He seemed to think he was Borat. From time to time he would yell out "SEXYTIME" to no one in particular.
