If you want to debate the merits of adding fluoride to drinking water that's at least a conversation worth having.... toothpaste is a stretch though.

Further ALL the credible research I've seen on green tea shows that it either helps BUILD bone-density in older people or at worst has zero effect on it.
I don't really agree with Igor on limiting greet tea intake. I think consuming green tea will not be a big issue fluoride-wise unless someone is drinking a lot of flouride-containing water per day. Benefits outweigh the cost, so to speak.

I bought a box of organic Newman's intending to drink it daily maybe a year ago but then my body's response to caffeine is now intolerance thanks to post-COVID effects. So, it's just been sitting in the kitchen since.

From what I've read decaf green tea has all of the same health-benefits as regular does... you should switch. (I like Whole Foods store brand)

My caffeine tolerance has dropped over the years too.... if I drink black tea/coffee instead of green tea I can only handle a single cup. (and coffee messes with my stomach now too.... which really blows!)

Medical misinformation sucks. :(
One thing I've noticed in medicine is that nutrients/chemical agents/drugs can have a double edged sword effect. Even oxygen is like that for us. Do you know that if you were to get 100% oxygen for breathing, the long term effect would be you would age faster! Too much of anything is bad bad bad. Even drinking too much water in one hour can cause pressure buildup in the brain and lead to death. Cyclists have died from that.

Yep .... "oxygen toxicity" IS a thing... weird stuff.

The water thing doesn't surprise me either.... when I used to regularly do 50-60 mile rides I would sometimes reach the point where more water actually made things worse in terms of how I felt. (dizzy & weak)

At that point the ONLY thing that would help promptly was Gatorade likely because I was over-hydrated and critical minerals/sugar were depleted as a direct result.

It appears the original founders of Honest Tea are coming back with the brand "Just Ice Tea".

Still a MD company. That's good. I seldom drink bottled tea, but I'll get theirs if I see it.

No unsweetened black tea? Is that a concession to Coca-Cola, to not compete directly with Gold Peak?

The glass bottles are fine for OTC retail single purchase, but there's no way that I'm going to buy a case of them shipped from Amazon.

Doesn't even look like they will do internet sales. Can buy on amazon to pick up at whole foods.

Just buy the honest tea version while it is available:

The bottles are plastic.

This is a suggestion you may want to follow if you are really serious about easing your brain issue:

Eat Avocado for five days straight. You may also use extra virgin olive oil or pure butter. And only one boiled egg per day. You can't eat anything else. Drink ample amounts of water. Unsweetened tea or coffee is also fine.

Let us know how you feel on the third day and if you wish to continue doing it till day 5.
Where do you get these wild ass food recommendations. Jesus christ they need to put a disclaimer on your posts.

Yeah, while it may be "common" knowledge that "herbal teas" usually don't have any actual tea in them, beyond that, the Amazon page also says "Experience the difference of real-brewed iced tea with Honest Tea Organic bottled teas. Committed to the highest standards of quality, Honest Tea Organic teas are sourced from only the finest tea leaves and organic ingredients from around the globe. "
And:

Brand Honest Tea
Item Form Loose Leaves

Which, I can't see why any bottled tea would list itself as "loose leaves", as far as I know that's typically not how tea works.

Of course there IS an EXTREMELY COMPLEX procedure that might have nipped this "problem" (lol) in the bud.

OP might read the INGREDIENTS LIST prior to buying next time? ;)

Typically that's an option, but the Amazon product listing doesn't have it. Normally I'd expect it to be in the panel that has the nutritional info, but not there on this one.
It does assure you that it's not made with "sewage sludge" which I had to roll my eyes at.
Yeah, I think if I were buying a beverage with the intent for it to soothe my brain problems, I'd put in a little more effort than OP did pre-purchase, but the product page here is definitely pretty lax as far as communicating what the product really is.

Yeah, I know, right. Silly me, when I bought a food product, with "tea" in the name, I guess I just assumed, that it, you know, contained tea.

Next time, I'll have to check, and make sure that the brand of coffee, isn't really just re-labeled mt. dew.

It DID take me nearly 5 interminable seconds to find said ingredients list via Google on the "Honest" website.

;)

Even so Amazon needs to do better.

If you want I'll find you a dozen products from other brands with the word "tea" in the name that don't contain black or green tea leaves.

"Tea" (as has already been pointed out) is a drink made by soaking leaves in water... it doesn't even need to be hot water and those leaves DO NOT have to be from a "tea-shrub". (Camellia sinensis)

"Black, "Green" or "White" (etc) teas are ALL specific types of leaves used to make tea.... as is Hibiscus. Ginger-tea is also a thing btw although it is a fair argument to say if it's not made from leaves it's not "tea".

EDIT: Also I'm only giving you a hard time! ;)

You haven't been in the situations I've been in. Literally life threatening and not wanting to trust doctors so food was the only thing that saved my life. Restricted food that heals you. If you don't want to believe that, that's up to you. Our bodies are surprisingly capable of self repair. We just need to restrict the food supply so they can get relief from constantly having to shuffle unwanted glucose/amino acids/fatty acids that we stuff ourselves with by eating three times a day (totally unnecessary).

Start by eating a crap-ton of organic/green veggies and 100% unprocessed whole grains which rip through your intestines like an army of tiny scrub-brushes for a few months before bothering with anything else.

Also if you still eat stuff like hot dogs, sausage, bacon or any kind of "factory" meat it would be a good idea to 99% phase it out. (sorry)

I believe the idea is simply to eat foods that do not stimulate the release of insulin in a significant manner. So green veggies work but whole grains are not good for the OP's health situation.

I also have always been really questioning of the "cleansing" function of fiber; I believe the main potential benefit is feeding the better bacteria in the gut.

IMO, I think there is something to be gained by achieving a fast of approximately over 36 hours, because the body will have passed through the "struggle phase" and enter a state where glucagon takes the lead in energy production for cells. Only pulled it off once in my life though...I really lack willpower.
