This is more than alarming, but myself, I'm gonna vote by mail and not worry about it. My reasons are:

1. I'm gonna mail ASAP
2. I'm SIP, so don't want to visit an election office or the polls on election day
3. I'm in CA, and if CA goes for Trump there will be a revolution or else the republic will literally fall to pieces, depend on it

Or have somebody you trust take it to a ballot drop off box if that's practical-

The more people who do it that way the better the USPS can handle the load.

Just saw on TV that CA's laws provide that as long as mail in ballot envelope is postmarked by election day it's eligible to be counted as long as received within 17 days of election day. That's not true in some other states. I heard that some demand to have received by election day.:confused_old:

Most states have firm cutoffs on election day-

As far as removing the physical blue neighborhood PO boxes, the boxes bolted down, ours went away back in the early 1990's. Back in the 90's the PO took away every one of the neighborhood boxes to cut costs and to free up the mailman from having to check all of those boxes. It was expected that people should use their home mail box instead to put outgoing main into then pull up the red flag to let the mailman (mail person) know you have mail going out. OR... you could always drive to a local mail facility and drop your mail into that bolted-down blue box. So frankly, I don't see the big deal with removing the neighborhood drop-off boxes. People can use their home mail box for outgoing mail and swing up the red flag, or drive to one of your local facilities and drop the mail off there. I would never trust a neighborhood drop off box anyway. I mailed a car payment in a neighborhood mailbox back in the 1990's and the bank never received it. Then to weeks later the entire box was GONE. So, I suspect knowing they were going to remove that box entirely, the mailman had quit checking it weeks before the box went bye bye and my payment to the bank was probably still inside that box when the postal truck removed the box entirely. I'm guessing it would be the more old-fashion less advanced deep-southern states and cities that still heavily rely on the neighborhood blue mailbox. Where as most other states and cities have removed the neighborhood boxes entirely way before Trump came along. I also hear that you can still make a pay phone call for only a dime down in those southern states.

Unfortunately, I see a civil war on the horizon.
That could happen if this election is rigged.

I have never voted for a single Republican in my life and I highly doubt I ever will.

I have also never used a hashtag in my life but will right now... ready?

#boycottfoxnews

Edit: I swear I dreamed that up myself, but just did a search on it and see it's got some traction on the internet. Boybott the organization AND their advertisers. I have never watched them in my life, I don't have subscription TV. I keep hearing about them constantly, mostly here, I guess, and find it amazing that anybody watches that total shit. If you do have subscription TV, self monitor for your sanity's sake.

They had to stop due to blowback. This whole thing has the stink of an enormous and very public political fumble that is going to do the opposite of what Trump wants.

It is not particularly uncommon in older multi-unit buildings for there not to be an outgoing mail slot. Also some people don't have cars or can't drive.

Now he needs to get back on the phone with daddy and inform him that the plan tanked ... and hope to god he has new instructions for him.
Anyway, who sees The Orange menace as a flight risk when/if he realizes he cant win this thing?

And apparently people are protesting outside the Postmaster General's house. 2020 is quite the year.

Also in the category of how this could backfire electorally:

Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, many states made it incredibly cumbersome for soldiers with APO addresses to submit absentee ballots. The response it created was that community volunteers, usually military spouses, would setup offices near the mailroom to remind us of deadlines and documentation requirements.

Now they need to put back the ones they've pulled
....and get the mail sorting machines back online
Postal Service removes some mail-sorting machines, sparking concerns ahead of election
The US Postal Service plans to remove hundreds of high-volume mail-processing machines from facilities across the country, leading some postal workers to fear they may have less capacity to process mail during election season.

So the fire was put out but check this out

At 2:44

"We are not going to be removing any boxes" said USPS spokesman Rod Spurgeon. "After the election, we're gonna take a look at operatations and see what we need and dont need"

So they stopped removing boxes, and will re think it after the election

1. Why AFTER the election ??? and
2. What about the boxes already collected? (The operation is already a halfway success?).

Demand the boxes back maybe?

Probably the best thing to do now is force DeJoy to roll back his new policies and fund essentially unlimited overtime through November.

Looks like the Florida ones are senior hot spots. Evil, nothing, but evil. How you liking this pubs in here.

Obvious dumb question of the day : How can they function without the machines? Sort by hand?
