No, it's not worth it. The difference between Bulldozer and Piledriver is not enough to make up the 400 MHz difference. Even if it was, that $20 should be going to the GPU anyway.

I've read people saying that there are many problems in the Bulldozer Series that was fixed in the Piledriver. Also it is more energy efficient

And I was just asking him for advice

There weren't any showstopper bugs in Bulldozer that would be visible as crashes or misbehavior to the end user. There are some that reduce performance, but when taken holistically, the overall advantage of the 400 MHz and $20 price difference is more important.

And by the way I'm just asking my brother for advice

Advice is when you give somebody your honest opinion of what would be best for them. Trying to get somebody to do what you want for your own benefit is called self-serving manipulation.

OK, OK we don't need to argue about my brother. The important thing here is the build, right?

I see... so is the the fact that it's more energy efficient compared to the bulldozer even worth it?

And also with the extra $20 could I get a better graphics card than the 7790?

The next logical step would be a 7850. How much more are those in your country?

Exactly. And your brother is the primary thing standing in the way of that. So let's just ignore him for now, OK?

Given your budget, you can't really be picky about that sort of thing. You need to get the best performance you can for your budget.

Actually, what would be really helpful is if you posted a list of all CPUs and GPUs within +/- $50 of your price range (and their prices of course). That'd avoid a lot of back and forth because we could just pick out the right one.

I have found both CPUs at good prices, so you say performance is better? Which would mean the FX 4170. So can I finalise?

Sorry guys I haven't replied in a long time. I've been able to finalise build, with the FX 4170, HD 7790 and 4GB RAM. I haven't payed yet because my friends knows a cheaper source. About your request mfenn, I looked for CPUs around $50 and I can't find anything good, nothing. But I think I'm happy with what I'm getting, I just want it now!!! Ugh I hate waiting, have so many plans
