Has Newegg.com turned to garbage?

WTF seriously, they turned a once awesome techie site and my number 1 go-to site when I need anything PC related because I know it'll be cheap, easy to navigate layout, and awesome shipping time & prices.

Now I go to newegg and it's like a cluster fuck.

They had shitty margins if memory serves. Created a wonderful consumer base because of it. And got sold off to some dip shits that don't understand the business model.

Fritzo has it right. I just think the reasons are painfully obvious to everyone but the new owners.

OMFG, they sell auto parts now. WTF. I am done with them.

I still use them for most PC stuff, but it's usually on a good sale and those are fairly rare these days.

I haven't noticed any of the things that I like about Newegg really deteriorating as they expand their offerings. The site is larger, but the search works well and I can still find what I want. They still have a great selection of stuff, great service, and a good customer review/feedback system. Their prices are almost always competitive. It isn't the same old Newegg but I don't get all the hate. Is Amazon really better for parts and electronics?

The constant need to squeeze more profit out of everything seems to kill businesses all the time. I know Newegg doesn't make this kind of jack but really, when is making $5b a year not enough? That's right, when people think your company sucks and is stagnant because it only makes $5b a year every year. That's not good enough, you need to sell auto parts now so you can then make $5.1b a year.

Their customer service has still been excellent for me in the last year or so. I shop on Amazon too but I don't trust them as much to make things right if they go wrong.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

They sell fvcking garden tools now, too.

Talk about losing the damn plot.

Checkout NCIX for weekly Sales, if you haven't. I'm not sure how competitive they are, but I get all my hardware from them.

They've always treated me very well. If the service gets poor, I'll go someplace else. No one's forcing you to shop for anything other than computer parts there if that's what you need.

When did they sold out to the new owners?

ALOT of my friends used to work at NewEgg - but now I only have one and she didn't tell me.

I know NewEgg first attempt, NewEgg Mall, failed at an attempt to become like an Amazon... now they have NewEgg Marketplace...

I use neweggs awesome search and inventory to figure out what I want. Then head over to amazon to use my prime membership.

I have had too many good experiences with newegg to even consider shopping elsewhere. Their customer service is easily the best in the world. I would go out of my way to shop there even if it was more expensive, just for the reason that theyre a company I can trust that will treat me right.

Didn't read the whole thread, then saw this. I do the same thing. Newegg's service USED TO BE GREAT. We're talking 3+ years ago when they got orders out the next business day and actually packed your stuff worth a damn. Now, I use Newegg to look at pics and specs and buy from any reputable etailer that is substantially cheaper. Newegg packs like crap and takes 3 days to ship your order no matter if you pay the SuckerCharge, AKA "Rush Processing" fee of $2.

Since when did Newegg sell itself?
I was never aware of this.

If they did, that could certainly explain a lot of things.
