And I can run OSX on my hackintosh anytime I want. So I can get the best of both worlds too, except that my video card is 2x better and my computer was half the price

Real Mac > Hackintosh, for running OSX, everytime I've never had a flawless experience with Hackintosh, it's good but not perfect...

to be honest both sides are full of tards. it's hard to find anyone with an open mind about both sides anymore.

I think i have an open mind as I use windows at home on my gaming pc and I have a macbook for lounging around and a macpro at work. I use them all.

I have kubuntu on a old laptop but I never use it. This is mostly because I dont have time to get into a 3rd os.

i'm glad to see someone else who can see the merits of both systems!

I hate both systems too, but people still hang on to the old stereotypes from years ago.

Reminds me of all the people who used to write 'M$' when talking about microsoft. You hardly see that anymore, which is a good thing.

I am a big fan of Win7, if I hadn't switched to a Mac 4 years ago, I would have been totally happy with it. But I feel like I can do more things on my Mac, layering windows and getting at them more easily through a combination of Spaces and Expose (and the stuff that is coming in 10.7).

Really love AeroPeek, and if the AeroSnap worked better I would love it too (aerosnapped windows do not remember their settings after they are closed or you reboot, and you can only do half the screen when you drag to the side). The new taskbar is great, and the rest of the OS is pretty snappy.

Also, Magic Trackpad is pure gold. Seriously, it is wicked. A little weird using a trackpad on a desktop, but it is pretty awesome.

command up down does All the way to the top or bottom of the page.

Let me say that there are so many short cuts within os x that if you were so inclined to learn them all you would not have to touch the mouse.

Mac sucks

iPhone rules

Don't let the iPhone lead you to the rest of Apples products unless they are also iDevices. They're computers are overpriced piles of shit. Well, they aren't shit but they are WAYYY overpriced and you get the same components for a lot less with a PC. If you want to run OSX, then build a Hackintosh and save a grand or two. Your daughter to be will thank you later.

I think the Macbook Pro is a nice device too. It shares PC components but there isn't a windows machine with the same construction/form factor as a Macbook Pro. The Unibody is several years old and windows laptops are still light years away from having a comparable form factor.

I searched for months for a Windows machine like that and I never found one, so I know there isn't an alternative, at least not yet.

Laptop? As mentioned, two-finger tap.

Desktop? I think it just has to be toggled in the settings/control panel.

Anyway, my wife and I intend on getting an iMac with her upcoming student loans. Honestly, I haven't found a Win7 AIO that really beats the iMac's value in terms of power, style and, most importantly, screen quality.

If you can find something comparable to what Apple offers for a similar or cheaper price with Win7 you aren't looking very hard.

Going from Win7 to OSX is like stepping backwards in a time machine. OSX seems old and out dated next to Win7. That's not to say it is, but Win7 feels like a "next generation OS" whereas the current OSX feels like more of the same. I don't get to play around on OSX a lot, but just my experiences recently with the two that's how I feel.

You have looked at Anandtechs front page today. Right?

Meanwhile I can do a million things on Windows that you can't even do on a Mac, so bite me.

Like? OSX + darwin ports solves all problems.

How is windows 7 so radically different from vista? I couldn't tell the difference, had vista on a tablet for 2 years (no complaints), win 7 on the parents computer... identical as far as i can tell.

Haha mac fanbois. At least they all stick to college campuses and Starbucks.

Eh, if anything this place is full of people that do tech support and love windows long time. OSX is a very popular choice for software engineers.

I think that's generally true, but not with all-in-ones, as I had specified. Seriously, find me an AIO from any of the major PC makers with a screen nearly as good. Every HP AIO I've looked at, for example, has complete shit viewing angles. Internal specs matter much less to me.

really, please do find me one...I would be most grateful. I've looked and failed.

I use and support all of Win XP, 7, linux and OSX daily at work. I find them all to be comparable...except for XP, by far. Regardless, whatever gets the job done is fine by me.
