Back to the Future. Honest to God impossible.

That was a very fustrating game.

I have a long list but my vote would go to Splunker. I was pretty close to the end on several tries but never did finish it.

Oi, I'd managed to completely mentally block that game... it was sadistically difficult. Sooo easy to die.
And someone actually did a speed run!
You can see how easy it was to die in that, though.

Definitely TMNT. Goonies 2 a close second, Kid Icarus a close 3rd.

I remember doing Goonies 2 speed runs in less than 90 min just for kicks. It was pretty easy once you found out the optimum path to get all the kids and thenthe mermaid.

Legacy of the Wizard. I literally could not figure out what to do in this game.

THAT'S the game I was thinking of! It's like running around lost in a maze without any clue as was to do!

Rush N' Attack. The freaking game doesn't have continue credits. Once you dead, you are dead!

I was not aloud to play this game after a while because my parents were spending too much money replacing the controlers because I would die and throw them agains the wall.

I was the only one amongst my friends to beat TMNT 1, ironically Shredder was the easiest boss.

oh yeah I remember that. We beat it as well. I think Donatello was the one I used to beat that game.

Metal Gear, That Gaem Rocked. We did beat it eventually. Hardest game I never came close to beating is Battle toads and Super battle Toads. Great games though.

Ninja Gaiden was always a challenge.

Bionic Commando I bet so many times, great game though. To bad there was no sequel.

Ahh the memories this brings back.

honorable mention to back to the future 2/3 for being so damn buggy that you can't do anything

battletoads

I've played it to death, but the only time I've ever beaten it...took me a while too, was with save states + game genie cheats

Same here, just no clue.

I beat Mike Tyson once and never touched the game again.

Battletoads is insane. I only play it two player and we spend most of our time killing each other... =)

Whoever said Legend of Kage... the game doesn't end.. AFAIK. I have rescued the princess twice and it just starts you over again... Never mind it looks like you only have to do it three times summer, autumn and winter. I have never beaten winter...

I had a couple of other games that were $0.99 and Funcoland but they never made any sense...

Crap is that real?

I'm guessing it's tool-assisted - the movements are scripted. Tyson doesn't hit him once, and he enters the code at the begging way to quickly and accurately.

No it's not. I can do the same thing. If I knew it was that spectacular, I would have uploaded a video too. 😉 The first 1:30min Tyson will knock you down with one blow. But you can avoid them and get two shots in between, but that's it. Get greedy and go for three shots and you're going down. After the 1:30 mark, Tyson can hit you but it will not knock you down in one shot. I'd say Tyson is easier than Super Macho Man once you get used to playing him. You just gotta have leet reflexes. 😉

Definitely not assisted. I could do the same thing. Like JackBurton said, beating Super MachoMan was harder..

I can't tell since I'm at work, but is that Izmo's Mike Tyson Punch Out video or mine? Izmo's is 100% tool assisted, mine is not. It's very easy to tell due to requiring perfect dodging AND perfect timing to score a perfect hit (extra damage) punch, which is humanly impossible due to how human reflex limits work.

It's Izmo's. The way the code was entered at the beginning was a big tip-off that it was tool-assisted. And not only did he dodge every punch, he dodged so quickly that he would have had to just tap the d-pad, requiring absolutely perfect timing to avoid the punch.
