I can access my gmail account by logging into mygoogle.com

I have 'Always use https' enabled, so the igoogle gadget doesn't work for me. Oh well, I'll just wait til I get home.

I was browsing around in the new VB forums. Pics enable would lead to some pretty hilarious threads. LOL. There as already been some funny posts. One thing that I hope will change is the 10 character limit. C'mon now.

If you have less than 10 characters to post, then it most likely wasn't worth reading in the first place.

QFT ... i hate trying to follow a thread and having to search around for the original reply that led to multiple quotes.

The inability to directly jump from forum to forum concerns me.

Here I can go from L&R to P&N to OT to PC games etc with one click.

When I am bored I can surf the forums looking for something interesting.

But on the beta you have to back out of one sub-group and then enter the next.

Will make surfing the forum harder and I would expect really cut down on the amount of traffic on the forum, especially the sub forums.

You may find people become more forum specific since moving from group to group is too much work.

My 2 cents.

This is absolutely essential and is one of the reasons I  AT forums.

i heart the side nav bar also.

On the good most of the buttons, functions seem to work good on the mobile.

The bad, couldn't log on as my p/w did not work, could not register as my username is already over there, and when attempting to do a p/w retrieval after hitting enter it just takes my to the main forum listing without indication that a damn thing was done and no email received.

The ugly, get rid of those godforsaken retarded ass image entry blocks.

So there is this thing on the screen you go through if registerring as a new user that mentions no obscenity, vulgar, or sexualy oriented posting. I assume this means L&R, OT, and Social forums in general are going by-by and we're looking at a noticeable reduction in post in several other boisterous sub forums.

I wish we could do configuring of how the page looks in the beta. In the dream world in which I live the forums would look more like the printable view.

How do you increase the messages per page to 40? I hate seeing only 5 messages per page.

Minor edit, in the time it took to move back to this forum, find and open this topic, write and upload the reply, the p/w email finally arrived.

Edit - oh I see, you set them when creating a thread. Lose that shit, waste of space. Get rid of any and all unnecessary bullshit, in my opinion. Forums are about discussion, not stupid bells and whistles and tags and ratings.

Edit 2 - also thread icons. Lose them.

Edit 3 - ditch the social groups BS. Waste of time/space. And the calendar. My god there are a lot of bullshit features on this forum.

Edit 4 - oh, and those stupid digg/stumbleupon/etc links at the bottom. Who the fuck is going to digg a forum post? Meaningless fluff features. Lose them.

godless is correct on every point here

also the quick reply box should be on by default

also need a FUCKING DARK THEME (example - http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1787/vbdark.jpg)

as well as 100 posts per page option

I'll second the 100 posts per page request.

Personally, I'd ditch the ability to change font size/color, inline pictures, attachments, etc. I know some people like it, but there's nothing like scrolling down a page and stumbling upon a big, red F-bomb to let my boss know I'm not working.

Many VB forums give a short 'grace period' for notification-free edits.

VB does have a "hybrid" view mode that lets you see who replied to who. This should accomplish the same thing.

I dunno if thats a good idea or not. Its very helpful to know sometimes when and if a message has been edited. For example, I call you a bottom dwelling scum sucking algae eater and then edit it out so perhaps only you saw it, but no one else can prove I said it. Not only that, but people can also claim they saw things but cant prove that either (when in fact it probably never happened). :(

Are pics going to be allowed? The main reason I surf AT is because no pics are allowed so I don't need to be worried while at work. If I want pics and general chaos I'll visit the bodybuilding misc section.
