First of all, both shotguns may be Remington 870's, but the scary top one looks like it has an illegally short barrel under 16".

Second, reading the article posting in the opening post of this thread, it mentioned that the intruder had been shot and injured, but not with what type of firearm.

Its one thing to oppose certain gun types and restrict where they can be carried, and quite another to oppose having a weapon for home defense.

What question?

TO point out their hypocrisy, link this 'legislator exception' in your fourth post about it.

You mean that exempting congressmen, nebraska, and unions from provisions of the "healthcare reform" aren't exemptions?

Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about. It makes you look like a moron (and, trust me, you don't need any additional help in that regard).

Incorrect. Its an 18.5" barrel.

This one is not as tricked out, but its similar to:

So whats so scary about the top one? The color black give you nightmares?

Also, being the firearms expert that you are, you are aware that any shotgun less than an 18" barrel is illegal, not 16"....right?

He got indicted for it.

That does not mean he is guilty, it depends on the actions of the man who was shot. If the senator was telling the truth, castle doctrine should apply. If the man who was shot was telling the truth, the senator would not be protected by the castle doctrine. But in the context of the OP, the Senator is not a hypocrite, he voted for the citizens to have this right, and he excersized this right.

I agree on both points. In my black and white world, I expect the police/prosecutor not to go forward at all if it was self defense. In the real world, who knows. Anything is possible.

It depends.. I don't have any background on the guy, but does he vote against things like AK47's and massive shotguns? Some people can still be antigun but still believe a single handgun in the house is ok.

So the kind of gun he wants is OK but the others are naughty and should e taken away??

Heard about this a few weeks ago on the radio but forgot the state so I couldn't find the article.

Just another example of the government elite wanting to take things out of your hands while keeping it for themselves.

Remember the Democrats wanting to push health care but making them exempt?

Feinstein.

She obviously wants to ban the guns with the shoulder thing that goes up.

The anti-gun people are not just anti-gun, they are anti-intelligence. Why would you be apposed to something when you don't even know what the fuck you are talking about?
The Anti-morons want to ban things because they look scary. They don't actually understand the function of the item.
Oh noes, the evil AK-47 looks so scary, buuuuuut, you could survive being shot by one.
a 40 year old Remington 700 in .300winmag If it hits you center mass your fucked. And it's a fairly common bolt action hunting gun.

Anti-gun people are hypocrits plain and simple. The lead by emotion and not logic and reason.

Might want to make sure you're up to snuff on your firearms laws. Barrels under 18" are not illegal, you just need to have the weapon registed with the ATF as a SBS (Short barrel shotgun) or AOW(All other weapons). If you go the SBS route it's a $200 tax stamp. if you get one, like the Serbu Super-Shorty http://www.serbu.com/top/superShorty.php
It's a $5 AOW stamp. I soooo want one of these, but Lupe' Valdez is a wise and beautiful woman and won't sign off on ATF forms in Dallas County.

Want to hear just how ignorant and retarded the leading voices of the anti-gun crowd are?

Have a listen:

So much clear lack of firearm knowledge...I dont even know where to begin.

My bad. Unless you want to jump through additional hoops, shotguns with barrels under 18" are illegal :p

Being a gun control advocate and being anti-gun are not the same thing.
I believe I should have the right to own a gun and I'll shoot anyone in the face who tells me otherwise.
Do I believe that I, as a private individual citizen, should be able to own ANY kind of guns I want and any number of guns I want without restriction? Well. . .no.

I was going to say at the SHORTEST that might be a 16", but it looks perfectly legal to me...

Are you sure this guy is a Democrat? I mean he likes guns and young boys, he should be a Republican. :)
