I dont have any issues with my drumset, hopefully i got a good batch.

What difficulty do you play on?

From what I've read, majority of people who are complaining are doing expert - and people with no issues are easy/medium - primarily because there are less notes, so the sensors missing quick notes goes unnoticed.

I played for a while today on medium and didn't have any problems, I suck at the drums so anything else and i'd fail 3 seconds into a song. Whats up with all these freaking spanish songs?

As far as the actual play mechanics go, there are a few new elements in World Tour. One is that bass players will now find a bar going across their note highway, just as drummers do for the kick drum. When this happens, you simply strum without holding a fret button. It gives the bass player a sixth note to deal with, but it doesn't really up the difficulty since playing no frets is, well, a piece of cake. It does add a lot to the experience and makes it more realistic, and it's something I'd like to see added to the guitar as well. Some of the faster songs are actually easier to play on a real guitar since you can change chord positions while playing an open string, while with these games you always have to have a fret button pressed.

about damn time somebody added the open note

One pretty interesting bit about the track listing is that Activision and Neversoft managed to sign on Tool to contribute three songs. Fans of the band (including myself) are obviously pleased by this, but what's really worth noting here is that Neversoft worked with the band to create something unique and different than the other content from the game. The songs are originally played in a Tool-specific venue that blends art and content from some of the band's more recent album work and videos. You don't even see any band members - it's just the pulsing, undulating and flowing artwork and the note highways. It's very cool to see that Neversoft was capable of working with the band so closely and that it was able to portray the art and mood so well.

jizz

I was playing this for a while yesterday and I have to say I like it a lot better than RB1 or 2. The guitar has some sweet new concepts to it like having held frets that come in at different times and the stringing of notes as well. The empty note is really cool on bass, adds a new element to it. Can't say much for drums, my friend was using the RB1 drumset on hard nad it was working fine so no complaints there.

Overall I like this game better than RB so far, feels more polished to me for some reason. it also feels like its a lot less strict on the finger tapping sections which is really nice for faster songs.

Has anyone unlocked the Dream Theater song in this? I was trying to play it through cheats in quickplay but it wasn't coming up. Every list I've looked at says Pull me Under is in the game but I haven't seen it yet.

I've been trying medium. I tried Hard/Expert, i can't get it down. I can play dammit on real drums, but that is on my comfortable timing. Remember you have to be dead on for this game. I noticed sloppy sensors on the music creator, when i checked it out just to see what is was like, but in actual game play it doesn't miss no where as near like that. I know i have to beat my yellow cymbal a little harder than my orange.

Mars Volta is one...i was actually siked to see that on the list! Awesome musicians...singer is a little different.

Its hard to get into a song when I don't know the language. Which makes playing them in career mode a pain.

It is the very last song during the credits.

I just spent 2 hours playing for the sole purpose of unlocking the tool songs. and damn, it was worth every mother fucking minute.

KEV DO YOU HEAR THAT/!?!?

I can't wait to try it on expert haha

damn these people on the highscore list are mother fucking crazy.

just finished for about 3 hours...im on 48% single career mode (finished the tool set also)....rank 3,100

Last couple of sets i did were on medium, i think its too easy i get about 97-99% complete
::completed notes percentage::

Expert is pretty recockulous. I can only get 3/4 stars on the Tool tracks; I failed Schism @99% the first time through =X

The sequences are alot tougher than RB1 but the timing window is huge in comparison.

So does anyone know why you can't have more than one saved career on the PS3 version of the game? My wife's playing on my career because there isn't an option to make another band (career) which is really stupid. A game that gives you the option to have up to 4 career modes (guitar, bass, drums, vocals) yet they only give you space for 1 career? Thats a little F'd up if you ask me.

Maybe the careers are tied to the logged in profile?

So now that you guys have had time to play, how is the difficulty compared to GH3? I can beat all but 6 or 7 tracks from GH3 on expert including the bonus tracks. How difficult will I find World Tour? I really really want to play, but I'm waiting for my replacement console.

Jeez, some of you guys appear to be completely obsessed with Tool.

I know, right. I'm not a big fan, don't really think it's very good, but I have a friend that wants GHWT solely for the Tool songs. I mean, is the only thing that made them pick GHWT is that Neversoft let them use their crappy artwork in a stage?

It was a cock-gag.

Much easier, in GH3 I could only beat about half the songs on hard, I got though most of the game on hard, had to switch to medium a few times.

I think your right because I've heard that the Wii version has 3 slots for career's. But by changing my PSN won't that mess up DLC, and updates?

their artwork is gangster and more geared towards hardcore tool fans like myself =P

srsly, tool artwork > random ass ship + travis barker aahha

Does it still sound like crap in DD 5.1 like the previous GH games? Or is it nice and even like in RB1 and 2?

I decided to unlock the Tool gig. I wasn't all that impressed. OF course I'm not a fan of Tool either. 😛

Oddly enough, on CD my favorite tracks would go parabola>vicarious>schism

but in GH:WT schism > vicarious > parabola

Schism is so fun to play =D
