Everybody needs 6 guitars.. how else are you gonna play with 5 others? :)

lol... in all seriousness it's pretty easy to accumulate guitars if you keep buying the different versions. I have a PS2 guitar from my pre-XBOX GH1 and GH2 days... then I got GH3, and the rockband 1 bundle... and I'm going to get the GH WT bundle.. so I'll also be up to 4 different guitars and I've never bought an extra guitar.

Each new version of the guitars seems to have enhancements... like the solo buttons in the rock band guitar, and now the slide panel thingie on the GH:WT guitar... it keeps people wanting to buy the bundles and the guitars just keep piling up.

I had my wife pre-order for my birthday which was on Tuesday, I actually had her pre-order it a few weeks before which was smart since the 2 Game Stops around me aren't taking pre-order anymore.

Why do you need 6 guitars?

I dont, but the drums for WT look sweet as does the guitar. I have 2 GH2 explorer guitars (I hate em) and use one for GH3 for the PC and the other my friend prefers. I also have a Les Paul wireless which I bought seperatly and when I got the RB1 bundle it came with a wired guitar and then I bought the wireless version. I also plan on getting the Mad Catz Bass guitar for all the games when the wireless version comes out. double strum for bass playing goodness! If the GH:WT drums work properly on RB1 and RB2 then I will probably get rid of the RB1 drums. I barely drum anyway.

Rockband 2 vs. GH:WT ???

No one will really know until GH:WT comes out. From a technical standpoint GH:WT seems to have the edge but from a "I already have all the RB instruments" standpoint RB wins.

I've got 2 questions. 1.) will the strum bar be like all the other GH with the click or did they change it to be like RB? 2.) since the drum set is wireless will it work on the same adapter as the guitar or will there be two adapters?

Thats great news. I've been playing RB for the last few weeks then yesterday I fired up GH:A and forgot how much I missed knowing that I was strumming.

I went to Game Stop yesterday to pick up Rock Band 2, while I was there they guy tried to get my to reserve Would Tour which I told him I already had, I then said something about the midnight release and he told me they were canceling the launch party for GH:WT. When I asked him why and he said because there doing 5 other launch party's in the month of November so one had to go and it ended up being GH:WT. I'm sure this is only effecting my Game Stop but for the people who did reserve the game I would double check with you store to make sure its still going on, I wouldn't want to show up and midnight and no one be there.

Well that's dumb. If they're already doing 5 what's the harm in another one? Unless 3 of them are on the same day.

I have no idea, I forgot the other releases they're doing but I would think that World Tour deserves a midnight launch, I mean out of all the posters in the window World Tour's the biggest :D I'm still going to call on the 25th just to make sure.

Woot! Snagged some Guitar Hero World Tour Drumsticks at BB. Not supposed to be on the shelves but someone left all 3 styles on a shelf and I snagged em. They werent in the BB system so the guy had to check their pre-order sku and said these shouldnt be out and I said well, they were and have been on line for a while. Anyway, he rang em up manually. They look sweet. I think they are bit longer than the RB ones.

so does anyone know for sure whether RB instruments will work for GH:WT for PS3?

I already have rock band and all the instruments, have GH3 and taht guitar. I will probably get GH:WT if the drums work, but if not, I won't be getting the game.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the GH drums turn out; they do look fun. I want to retire my RB1 drums if the GH drums turn out well.

Hopefully they'll offer the game with the drums or something. I don't need the kit (especially the mic--I think the singing is the least fun part of RB) since I have the RB1 set + a GH2 guitar, but the new guitar might be interesting. My roommate is liking the idea of creating our own music and I'm hoping the career mode is somehow different from RB2 (not sure how, but I don't want the same thing, you know?).

If the single instruments are going to take forever to come out, I might just spring for the set and try to sell off my RB drums to at least offset some of the cost. We'll see. I'm sure I'll find some way to justify it if it comes to that. :)

On a side note, it would be nice if either RB2 or GH:WT had something where you could turn off some of the crap songs so you don't have to play them again, or in the tour if you could keep from playing the same songs over and over again before getting to a new song.

If you don't want to keep playing the same songs, just don't pick random sets and don't pick set lists containing those songs.. stick to sets with songs that don't have crap songs in them, or the "make your own" sets. Eventually you're going to have to repeat some songs of course, but you can progress through career mode without a ton of repeats if you really want to. I kind of like the random set lists and not knowing what is coming next, or having a set list handed to me.

That being said, I also hope that the WT career mode isn't the same as RB2. I like RB2, but I could just play RB2 for more of the same :)

i played the demo at best buy earlier and the instruments were way better than rock band. however, the demo songs were all pretty easy even on expert. that's doesn't make me thrilled for replay value. i guess there are 80-some songs tho!

after playing for about 2 hours i can say..

1. The new guitar is solid...best guitar to date
2. Easier than GH3, some songs on GH3 were ridiculously hard.
3. I can't play drums for crap, i never played rock band...and yes i can play real drums

I'm going to pick mine up at 11am. The game stop by me canceled there midnight launch and aren't even going to open early, I guess there pre-orders were low too. I can't believe there were only 6 people at your game stop. I'm looking forward to trying the new guitar.

anyone care to comment on the wii version and how they handle download content? I have yet to ever buy GH/RB... no room for all the instruments, and have other friends that will do that. So just looking at the guitar package.

That was about what I was expecting.

I don't like how they didn't go in-depth about the quality of the instruments - particularly the drums. All they said was that it felt strange and the kick pedal wasn't secured so it moved and flipped over.

I want to know if the cymbals are prone to cracking in half - if the foot pedal is properly reinforced to keep it from snapping in half - etc.

Hopefully now we'll start to see how these things work with the RB games.
