I really haven't been following this game but I keep seeing this artwork of an armored GW2 character or NPC holding what I can only describe as a demonic bazooka...what is that?

To be honest haven't a clue. Looks like a warrior with a fancy rifle of some kind maybe? Dunno no big thing in game I've read about evil bazookas.

GW.dat is 4GB. The GW.exe is like 8 MB.

EDIT: This was also the first time I ever used puu.sh. Great program/service. Check it out takes pictures of either your whole screen, the active window, or a selected area and automatically uploads it and puts the link in your clipboard with a keybind. Mine is Ctrl + Shift + 1,2 or 3

yeah, well, do you guys have 9 characters fully decked out with a billion armor sets and skills and and heroes and all campaigns complete (across characters) and like 80,000 titles and piles of junk horded all over the place?

You're stuff is stored in that .dat file? BRB finding out out how to hack in all this awesome stuff you have.

oh right, you're correct. It's all on their servers.

<--slow day.

However--that file does get bigger the more terrain you unlock. A fresh install with an old account will greet you with hours of loading time as you zone, and have to re-download all that data for larger regions. Well, hours if you have to go through all of the content, and if you have downgraded your broadband to the levels that I have.

Know what I'm glad theres like 4 of us in here. More Beta for us the rest of these schlubs can keep playing SWTOR and bashing wow in other thread while we keep our gem of a game.

yesh. potential console involvement does concern me, though. I'm dieing to get home and begin this signup.

I got the announcement to hotmail (my GW account), and gmail, where I more recently signed up for the newsletter.

I wonder if it's possible to apply through both, or do they track IP? Or is it simply best to go with the account linked through GW1, if they, for some reason, want to give priority to long-time players?

It takes a DxDiag scan so I think its based on your hardware.

Did you upgrade your GPU? I thought you had a 4870 or something in the RAGE thread. It can't hurt to try and sign up twice.
 
I wonder if game companies pass on overclocked systems for betas to avoid unnecessary crash reports, I might set my PC to stock when I run the dxdiag.

nah, I've had the 5850 for about 2 years now. I did recently go from 4gb to 16 gb DDR3, though.

hmm, good point. I have my GPU tweaked through AMD overdrive. Haven't touched my CPU or RAM, though.

A fresh install with the -image command (will download all the stuff) will take you to a max of 4 GB.

^ that's a long time to be playing on a Paragon. 😀

Granted, it can be quite fun, and I enjoyed it immensely, but it is truly a one-build-only class. And there you are, rocking that one build.

Build that I used to do Cantha new year quests.

I started the Paragon to make play with guildies easier and then ended going for GWAMM with it, hence the playing time.

At the moment going (slowly, like what is Nicholas collecting this week and using the traveler's gift, 2 and a half accounts worth of them) for another GWAMM with the first char, a Necro.

And full Paragon parties are crazy. 🙂

 
Got the email and signed up but got some error message when I submitted my information. Went to go sign up again and said my email address was already used to sign up so I figured it must of went through....

Haven't been this excited for a game in a long time and I even swore off mmo's forever after WoW. I played GW originally but moved to WoW to play with real life friends. Salivating after watching all these previews.
