on the other hand, a side salad with fat free french dressing is 110 calories and is only $.99.

and a classic single is only 230 calories, if you don't get mayo, cheese, and don't eat the bun. Add jalapenos for extra kick.

So you can get a very nutritious, delicious meal at Wendys. If you try.

why bother with even the meat patty then?

Just order the lettuce, you'll get a really nutritious meal then.

EDIT: (Ack...)

you were surprised? did you expect it to be less? i kind of thought it would be around 1000

When I read the thread topic, I thought "980" in my head.

Looks like I win

You know what irritates me about fast food joints? On the combo meals they need to offer upgrade to large drink but keep the fries small. Most the time I really don't want all those fries, if any at all, but since sandwich + drink costs as much as the combo of equal size my value per dollar sense outweighs my good nutrition sense. =/

ultimate ownership was the guy in one class that swore by his Taco Bell Taco Salad diet.

he was so fat by the end of the term.

About 1000 calories in them too.

Man...gross.

Someone I know ate 8 double doubles from in-and-out in a day. 3 for lunch, 3 for dinner, 2 for a midnight snack. This was about 5 months ago but I think I remember it being about 6000 calories.

What shocks me is that there are people who can't come close to guessing what the calorie count is of food in front of them.

That number of calories for the Wendy's triple is far from shocking, and would be virtually the same with any similar sized burger at any restaurant, or at home.

Guess what a Sierra Turkey Sandwich from Panara Bread is? (People would consider this more healthy than a burger)

960 Calories

13g Saturated fat

95mg Cholesterol

That's worse than a quarter pounder.

So you see, not only burgers from fast food burger joints are bad for you. Even what people would consider healthier selections from other restaurants can be nearly as bad, or even worse.

It pays to actually LOOK at what you're eating, rather than just assume one thing is bad while another is good.

And the shakes are bad too.
