Do you guys think the GTX 670 will apear on Newegg.ca or will it only be available in the US at launch. I want to order one tomorrow but I am not sure if they will ship my card to Canada?

For the most part, yes. Depends on the brand I think. I know for most of the GTX 680s the .com and .ca stores pull from exactly the same stock and warehouse. i.e. today the EVGA 680s were all in stock for a short period of time and they went in and out of stock at the same time on the .com and .ca sites plus were the same price cause of dollar parity.

Ncix, and Tigerdirect.ca will have them, and Newegg.ca will too.

Personally I've strayed away from ncix recently. Their service has taken a nosedive in the last year or so. I dunno if its because they opened the US store and their staff is overwhelmed or what, but they aren't what they used to be. My last several orders took 3-4 business days to simply process, nevermind ship. I recently cancelled an order that was in price match limbo for 6 days...on top of that their sales are a joke compared to what they used to be. You can usually price match stuff below their "Sale" prices. Their stock checker is always off too... constantly I'll order stuff that shows in stock only to get a backorder email. They need to update to real-time stock so it takes it away as soon as someone places an order like every other store. There's still the odd deal of course...but I miss the old ncix. I began ordering there in 2004 I think.

I'm going to avoid any site that is taking pre-orders. I don't want to be on a waiting list.
I want my shipping notice, and tracking number.

I just don't understand the whole idea behind having a short PCB and a super long cooler.

If you're going to have a really long cooler, you might as well bulk out the PCB and power circuitry for the chip as well.

Super short PCB would be a helluva winner for SFF cases and small box computing.

voted for ASUS but still torn between an ASUS DC II 680 or two 670s.

+1 for the EVGA VHS tape. They should make graphics cards resemble all sorts of rectangular items - books, dominoes, smartphones, etc.

Really depends on the price/performance. But I think Asus/EVGA get the nod, given they are the only ones trusted enough by nVidia to offer the 690.

From Anandtech GTX690 review: "The one bit of good news is that while cards will be rare, you won’t need to hunt across many vendors. As with the GTX 590 launch NVIDIA is only using a small number of partners to distribute cards here. For North America this will be EVGA and Asus, and that’s it." Lower cost for the reference design and not a competition to the custom designs of the partners.

Is GW2 that demanding? Will it push the GTX 670 and with Eye candy?

Well, I got the GTX 680, she got the old GT450. And the GT450 is along way for being enough to play maxed. We both mainly play in 1920*1200.

So if you need a GTX 670 or for example a 560ti would be enough? Fish?

But it will be her birthday so... :D

Nope. Waiting for a true 30-40% performance upgrade for my gtx 480 for $250.

Tired of draining the bank account for minimal upgrades.

I hear that, but the 680 is 40% faster than a 480 or near to it and about 30% over the 580.

Should amend that to read 'a true 60-70% performance upgrade...' :ninja:

If she is like my wife, you better get in line for the 690 GTX

I've always purchased EVGA in the past but I'm not so sure I want a video card that looks like a VHS. lol. It will be between EVGA or ASUS. Still waiting for Newegg to list the cards.

How do you know when a site like Tigerdirect will actually ship the cards, or if they even have them in stock?

So far I checked Tigerdirect and NCIX are listing the product but say there are none in stock,do you guys still think it makes sense to order one considering the order could be delayed for a long time? It says Usually ships 7-10 days
