Ordered the MSI 670 on Tiger Direct, of course it was instock and would be here by tomorrow. No big suprise still has not been shipped out, ended up getting the EVGA from Amazon which is great since i have prime and had a $30 credit on my account.

Now not sure if i want to wait for the MSI to get here and try to flip it for a few bucks or just cancel it since i would rather not deal with Tiger Direct.

I broke down and bought the evga model off of amazon, replacing my 5850 which I'll give to my dad. It seems if the price is >400$ I go 'wtf that is too expensive' but if its 399$ I go 'not a bad price!'.

You know the way the availability is with 6XX series I figured I could get the 670 at msrp and sell it for msrp if I got tired of it. Win win.

Ya the EVGA was the one i wanted, i would have probably sprung the extra $20 for the OC version if they had it. Still not sure what to do with the MSI one i have from Tiger Direct, knowing them they won't ship it for a week or let me cancel it even though i supposably have one of there first 32 they had in stock on the 9th.

I have to pay taxes on mine since I'm in WA where it is shipping from. 440$.

Don't worry. I will pay the taxes at years end. I don't want the IRS coming to me in 3 years saying I owe such and such taxes with 3 years of interest tacked on.

My Crucial 256g M4 SSD and my EVGA GTX 670 will both be here tomorrow. Upgrade weekend, will be ready for Diablo 3 even though its overkill for the game hah. I am going to need to buy BF3 i think this weekend to test the system some.

No because the company doesn't have any interesting products anymore. Look at there entire mobo line. Overpriced a d poorly done

True. Their P67 mobos were MIA. They messed up their whole warranty. At first I was super excited but upon closer inspection I realized it was premature. Looks like most of their cards here in North America have 3 year warranty and no step up. To be eligible for step up they require you to pay extra now to get extended warranty first (but lifetime warranty was FREE before!).

So they are now charging $20-25 to extend warranty and be eligible for step-up when before both of those features were free on KR cards for example.

When I got my 470, I got 4 free games, 3 highflow backets for $5 total and a lifetime warranty. Now, no free games, you have to pay extra for each high flow bracket/backplate, they don't have lifetime warranty because it now requires you to upgrade to an extended warranty first. To rub it in, their new cards look plain/boring and have no after market coolers.

Now Gigabyte sells WindForce 3X with a full blown GTX680 PCB, 4+2 VRM power phases, 2 oz copper PCB, and 6+8-pin power connectors for $399. EVGA is not what it used to be. Nickel and diming everywhere!

Ordered the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 OC 980MHZ for $399 :D

It's amazing how that 1 card made all 7950's irrelevant and frankly hard to justify $80-100 price for reference 680s and some 7970s.

Wow the fact that Amazon has a card at launch means there was a TON of availability, as they almost never have a high-end card available at launch, and at launch prices. I guess gtx 680 yields really were that bad, so that there were tons of harvested chips to make gtx 670's out of. And at $100 less for 90+% of the performance, I don't know who would want a gtx 680 now unless they absolutely had to have that extra speed.

Damn annoying that Newegg doesn't have the card listed yet. I wonder what they are waiting for.

I have a feeling once overclocked, the Galaxy dual fan, Gigabyte WindForce and Asus Direct CU's models with their 6+8 pin connectors, after market coolers, beefed up VRMs/power circuitry should provide 95-97% of the performance of $500 680 OCed. So it's not even 10% when pushed to the max. Most 680s on reference coolers drop off at 1250-1280mhz, while these after market 670s might push 1300-1400mhz!

^_^ Look at all those failed 680s!!

I kid, I kid. I smell more price drops. 7950 @ $399 is an impossible sell now unless 670 goes OOS for months as 680 did.

Damn bro, you never EVER miss an opportunity to diss AMD, do you? Its almost like a job for you. So much negativity, even when nobody is talking about them. You ok man? Wanna talk about it?

Yeah I predict (based on limited ability by AMD to cut prices further, given their financial situation and the fact that they have limited professional graphics or HPC market share to spread costs onto):

$500 - 680
$450 - 7970 3GB GHZ edition three for free
$400 - 670
$380 - 7950 3GB 900MHz edition three for free
$350 - 7950 1.5 GB 900MHz edition if they come out with this three for free
$280 - 7870
$240 - 7850

GTX 670 cards :D

ocuk670fortresscpuok.jpg

Maybe 100-150 cards there I would guess.

If anyone wants the 670, I'd buy in 25 minutes when they show up on newegg or wherever they are already available right now.

These cards could be as MIA as the 680 has been for the past two months and still is. Unless the yield situation is so poor that there is 1 viable 680 core for every 4 or 5 viable 670 cores rolling off the line.
