I am throughly enjoying my copy of GTA:SA that I bought at the store.

I bought two copies in anticipation of some stupid registration scheme (which thankfully didn't materialize) for my brother and I. I wish I had just stolen it instead, instead of being out a solid $100.

I've put $150 into this game - $50 PS2 (That copy now no longer works. It's not scratched, it's not smudged, it just won't read in any PS2), 2x $50 PC (which looks like balls, plays like balls, and definitely makes me regret buying it)

Hahahaha... Rockstar as been right below EA on my shytlist since GTA:SA was released on PS2 and not anything else. If Rockstar values the business of Sony's customers over anyone else, so be it. I'll never buy another product that's associated with Rockstar. I hope they go under... better yet... I hope Sony chucks a bunch of money their way first to try to keep them from going under... THEN they go under and waste Sony's money.

Oh, and before I go to bed... It seems that, looking at the system requirements, the game REQUIRES pixel shaders.
Seems they could've at least USED THEM.

I think they did... on that one pixel in the upper left corner of all your screenshots... see it? It's so shiny and realistic looking! Oh wait... that's a pixel stuck white on my laptop's LCD. :D

I played Vice City a couple of weeks ago and I remember why I quit the PC version in the first place (over 2 yrs ago I think now)...the controls on that RC Helicopter were so screwed up that I couldn't deal with it.
If its more of the shystiness in this game looks like they again won't be getting my money.

This thread isn't making sense. I see the OP posting some absolutely terrible screenshots. Then I see everyone posting some amazing screenshots throughout the thread. Then I read gamespy's first impressions and see very little mentioned about graphical problems outside of an FPS slowdown in the burning building mission. They go on to say this:

At the moment, we're a little over halfway through the game's story (50 missions so far), and there's barely been a bad mission in the bunch. link

Having played through the entire game on PS2. I find it a shame that several people will not buy the game based on what you've stated, since I consider it an extremely fun game.

and on my 6800 GT A64 system im running it at 1600x1200 3x AA and the game is absoulty stunning... i have none of the issues you are reporting at all...
I played for about 6 hours last night and none of my grafics look like yours...
sound is great (using recomended Audigy2) vid is great (usign recommended 6x series card)
control well I do agree there it feels a bit weird.. but i got used to it pretty fast...

I have Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition which is also by Rockstar Games. Their graphics leave a lot to be desired, especially in this day and age - they are behind the times.

I'm looking forward to the game, but I see everyone is blaming Rockstar games for the supposed shoddiness of the game. They're merely the publisher of the series. You should be blaming DMAsomethingorother. Maybe they were locked in a contract or something with unfair terms and have decided to put out a sub-par product. It's like saying EA Games is responsible for the poor gameplay of some of their title(kinda are though). Just felt like pointing that out.

yeah the graphics on this thing is terrible. it looked so much better on ps2. but then again i guess you are sitting relatively far away. guess i will have to find some other means to acquire it.

game is sharp not pixelated and looks great on a good monitor...

And I thought EA: NFSU 2 was bad. My god that game made all the cars uber-shiny, unrealistic and drive like shit. Not to mention the horrible hispanic stereotyping.

I think that this is a game that is crippled for ATI hardware. WTF is up with that? All the people who posted the nice screenies are runnng 6800's.

Still, EyeMwing's shots were jaggy as all hell. Thats not cool.

NFSU2 was an incredibily crappy game. I'm glad I just borrowed it instead of wasting my money on it. The goddamn magazine chicks weren't even hot, they were butterfaces! :barf;

yea...that maybe it. i have a gf6800. But I still dont think Im gonna buy this game.

and as for your NFSU2 comment...couldnt agree more. I hate all these urban street racers with crap load of motion blur put in. I enjoy racers like TOCA2 and SEGA GT or GT series a lot more (even though GT isnt for PC)

Your right too, get a descent graphics card, maybe a descent comp aswell EyeMWing, i'm sure this will run fine on my X800XT 3.2ghz p4
