I was unhappy with their service, no emails, no response for 10 days, but in the mail USPS today, I was sent a mate for the one stick I did get.

So now I am happy, and I have to give credit where credit is due !

Duly noted, thanks for sharing your experience so if I'm ever in need of an RMA, I can contrast and compare.

Shouldn't this be in the System Memory and NVRAM section?

Well I hope my sticks don't die on me. I bought them from newegg but it seems they now offer replacement for 90 days instead of what it used to be(usaully 1 year). I have had a few bad GSKILL sticks before but oddly enough they only died while in my 680i board. These new sticks I've don't like voltage at all so I'm running them @ 1004MHz 5-5-3-15 2.05v. At least I know they won't die from high volts. :)

Anyway, thanks for the heads up. I've never gone through an rma process with them. If only every company had service more like eVGA's...

I thought about that, but I was running a motherboard/cpu test on timings 7x480,8x420,9x373 to show performance increase to anser a post already here, and when the memory came back, so I could run the test, now it has to be in single channel mode, and that almost invalidates the test !

I would suggest you still do that. Order from G.Skill, that is.

I am not questioning the bad experience, but I don't think Mark wants to give them a fair chance.

Like Rubycon suggested - why don't you post on the Xtreme Systems forum...?

Why do you prefer to burn the bridges...?

You know, rants are good, but only if you can get anything that would benefit your cause.

This way you get nothing.

However anyone might disagree, the Newegg reviews speak for themselves. They are mostly written by people not too "tech-savvy", and people like that expect "plug-and-play" performance.

And they get just that. In large numbers.

I am really disappointed seeing these "bashing" threads. Unless there is a large number of people that support your cause, this thread is just another "don't buy from Fry's, Newegg, G.Skill, Corsair, OCZ" etc.

Lets wait for other G.Skill bad experiences, because yours is the only one that I can remember in the last year, Mark.

Seconded.

I've had a great experience with G.SKILL products!!

I just brought that up as I'm a member there and manufacturers frequent that board. It just may give you another angle to get through to someone that may actually be helpful and not shove a paperclip under your fingernails! ;)

On the one hand, it sounds like their service could be better. But on the other, I wonder what's actually causing three consecutive sets of RAM to die (motherboard? PSU? etc.). I'm not ruling out flat-out defective RAM, but three in a row seems a bit unusual.

Different motherboards, which now all sport OCZ.....

That is because I haven't seen anyone buying it either...:p

Is there a reason people are not jumping on the Super Talent 2GB deal?

Lets wait for other G.Skill bad experiences, because yours is the only one that I can remember in the last year, Mark.

So 3 bad in 2 months, and I have to have more bad experiences ? And replying to the tech handling the RMA is not good enough ? I have to go to extreme systems ?

BTW, I have now TWICE asked for my username/password to be emailed to me, and it still hasn't come in, so I can't post.

Not you.

Let's see if anyone else has had any bad experience with G.Skill support.

And be patient, even if that involves a bit of waiting for a lost password.

Or... perhaps you should have waited for your username/pasword before posting this?

How do you expect anyone to help you now...?

I wouldn't...

I wouldn't...

It says"it has been sent to you", but it hasn't.

And I don't expect anybody to help me, since the gskill rep replied within an hour for the last 9 replies, now its been 6 hours and nothing, so I expect nothing.

But I will pass my experience along. And if they come back and make this right, I will post that....Otherwise, they deserve any bad press they get. Not to mention 3 for 3 bad memory I have bought from them.

And don't tell me its my motherboards, since all systems are up and running 24/7, no problems.

ive had nothing but good experiences with g.skill. 3 kits - 2x1GB ddr-500, 2x1GB ddr2-800, and 2x1GB ddr2-667 laptop ram.

you probably have bad luck with those sticks, or your mobo hates those sticks and killed them. sorry OP, that sucks. still, g.skill is a good brand and maybe you should give them another chance. if not, geil, corsair, ocz, or other name brands will do im sure.

NOTE, These are all PC-8000 memory, and rated to run 2.3 vdimm required. And the only other PC-8000 I had was crucial, and I had to RMA it also.

You burned them!

You burned Crucial, too, in your heavily overclocked systems, with heavily over-voltaged CPU's and Northbridges and... MEMORY.

Now we know what happened...

The factory sticker says that is the voltage REQUIRED to run the memory, don't blame it on me, I said I didn't over volt these... Can you read ??????

Here is a link to the spec page on newegg. 2.3-2.4 vdimm is the SPEC, NOT OVERVOLTED !!!!!

And just in case that was sarcasm, sorry, I am not in the mood.

And last, I did burn out a DS3 motherboard by running a Q6600 @ 3.2, and I don't blame that on anybody. Thats why I am buying DQ6's now, they are designed to handle it.
