alright so I go get the new arby's deal - three beef 'n cheddar for $5 bucks......Moving on I go through the drive thru and get my sandwhiches and I kindly ask for 6 packets of arby's sauce and she was like "YOU CAN'T HAVE NO SIX PACKS" - I was like why and her response was "YOU ONLY ALLOWED ONE PACKET FOR EACH SANDWHICH" now at this time i'm like WTF is this $%**$ - she is acting as if the packets are some sort of priced item on the menu. So I start getting mad so now she goes and gets her manager who states to me it is there policy only to give 1 packet for a sandwich.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Last time I goto that dump.

maybe this is a sign I should go on a diet?

But anyways, thats BS.

WTF?

Are you serious?

I am freakin' outraged!

You need at least 3 packets of Arby's sauce and Horsey sauce per half bun, so that's 12 packets total per sandwich!!! Not 1!

OMFG where's my gun.

You'd be amazed at how fast that add's up. I'm actually in training, for an Arby's, doing inventory management at the moment.

When your profit on a sandwich is $.15, and you are giving away $.02 in packets, you are loosing 7.5% in profit.

Take that times 300 sandwiches a day, 360 days a year, and it adds up.

Well if you would boycott them along with the rest of the Fast Food/Poison Resteraunts you'd probably end up healthier.

That's stupid.

There is another end to this though. At McDonalds, people wanted 8 packs of sauce for 6 chicken nuggets. I wasn't allowed to give that many.

Don't blame her, blame the company, which it seems you're doing. :)

Actually, I haven't ate there in quite some time (I have been on a somewhat healthy kick) but I guess this just reinforces that.

The Arby's near me (Southern California) have a pump for ketchup, Horsey Sauce, and Arby's Sauce. I use it to my heart's content.

Don't eat at Arbys, this is just another reason why.

Usual practice like at other restaurants would be to only hand out sauce if requested, or only hand out 1, but if a customer asks for more, they get more.

I can't believe the manager was such a jerk about it. I probably would have tried to return the sandwiches, and get my money back. More sauce or money back.

You could always write the owner (not the manager) of that location, and complain. Write to Arbys corporate offices, and complain about that location.

And as far as the .02c, what's the cost of lost business because of being extemely stingy? As I stated, you could save $$ by not handing out sauce unless requested, then give the customer the # they request (as long as it's reasonable. 8 packets for 6 nuggets is BS). That way you meet the customers needs, yet cut down on costs due to thrown away, unused sauce packets.

BTW, Taco Bell near me must be making a mint on their 79 cent tacos, because when I ask for 1 packet of sauce each, they just grab a huge handful of about 15 and give them to me.

I used to be a Franchise manager(like a regional director) for Arby's corporate headquarters in Florida. This is utter BS....which franchise restaurant did you visit? Where are you located?

Is that the actual profit on a sandwich?
How many would a store have to sell to pay for rent, heat, electric, salaries, etc.?

Thank goodness it is not any of my old restaurants. I would be on the phone, even though I don't even work there any longer. And as far as the $.15 analogy, most items have a much larger profit margin than that. The cost on most sandwiches is less than $.50, so unless they are selling something for $.65, your analogy is a little off.....

Man, that's fscked up. The Arby's I go to always gives you an insane amount of sauce. One time, they gave me an entire bag the size of the bag my actual order came in filled with Arby Sauce, Horsey Sauce, and Ketchup. I have no friggin clue why they gave me ketchup, I didn't even order any fries!

Yeah, and that's not taking into account the profit off a $1 small soft drink.
