My Xbox pad has 2 analog sticks... the I use the 2nd for throttle and brake and the shoulder buttons (which are analog, but the drivers I'm using don't detect them as such) as gear change.

I was having a badass lap, probably would have been under 2:20, and then on the last turn I slightly clipped the wall on the exit and it farking spun my entire car around :|

Anyways, you're next on my hitlist after I ram NFS4 into the wall

lol... i never did get used to using any analog stick as throttle and brake... 😕 hmmm... ill stick with my on/off switch... 😛

can't wait for this game... 😀 ...Ferrari 360s... against those pesky *GT3s* 😉

wow this game is soo realistic
I was redlining at first gear doing doughnuts for a minute
after a minute, my clutch was worn out and it kept slipping, and the tires had no traction....

Logitech Momo something is good. The Momo wheel is nice.

Saw a Microsoft Force Feed Back wheel and pedals at Best Buy on clearance for $20... is that any good, and does this game support force feed back?

wuss 😛

I think someone should make a steering wheel/pedal set that has the following:

3 pedals. I gotta have my clutch!
Seperate gear stick (not molded into the steering wheel base, and an H gate with 6 speeds plus neutral/reverse would rule, or slip it into Tiptronic mode 😉)
Force feedback wheel, gear stick AND pedals (variable resistance in the pedals/gear shifter, differs depending on the car you're driving in the game, along with "pulsing" through the brake if you've got ABS on in the game etc)

If someone would make something like that, it would be my ultimate accessory. I've been putting off getting other steering wheels due to not having the things that are missing from my list above.

Confused

I'd buy it! If only they'd make a wheel that, like you said, had a clutch pedal and a real shifter. The shifter would have to feel meaty though, not like the ones you find in the arcade (flimsy)

Its already been done.
The Act-Labs Force RS + Shifter + Performance Pedals.

Unfortunately they have discontinued the wheel.

You can still buy the shifter and the pedals though:

For a while I was considering building my own rig like that. Scawenge a Force Feedback wheel and buld new pedals and shifters using the electronics.
Lot's of work but it could be sweet.

i dont think theres any game that models the pulsing you're talking about... but one of my previous posts have the other requirements... 😀

how can you use that in conjunction wiht a steering wheel and make the game recognize all three pieces and use them correctly?

you have to use their own software... the shifter works with other wheels too... 😀

Also, if you look in the game options, it can recognize more than 1 device.

If I had the time, I'd just on the ACT setup. I just don't think I'd play with it enough for it to be worth it to me.l

wow brand new? I'd have to get another one for that price!!!

you have to use their own software... the shifter works with other wheels too... 😀

That Act-Labs stuff looks interesting. Definately what i've been looking for, all that will be needed is a decent force-feedback wheel too.

I still think I'd like to be able to get it to modify the feedback you get from the pedals depending on the car. I would think that if a product was out there that did it, then games like these would include support for it, and it be written in.

The "pulsing" idea was something that could be extra, but not necessairly needed (but how many times when driving have you felt the accelerator pulse slightly under your foot before you realise you have to change gear to get more power 😉).

If they can bring an individual product out that works in the way i've described (which is, let's face it, is exactly how you drive a real-life car) then that will push the way forward in realism in simulations. Without products like that that do make it more like real driving, then there is only so far that we can go on the software side to simulate real life driving! 😉
