Holy shit. So... Gravity.
Words cannot possibly articulate how phenomenal this movie is. I just got back from seeing it a few minutes ago and I'm still reeling from shock.
It's both a technical and an artistic masterpiece. A beacon of cinematic perfection. Over the past few years, I've gradually become more skeptical of movies that receive extraordinarily high reviews from critics; but Gravity wholly deserves it's marks... and then some.
I went into it with high expectations and my expectations were unimaginably exceeded. It was nuts.
What particularly stunned me, is that I'm pretty sure this is the first big-budget movie to ever give me legitimate feelings of anxiety and fear. My whole body literally shook during some key moments. It is more stressful, more terrifying, and more nerve-wracking then any horror film I've ever seen.
Director Alfonso Cuarón leveraged the power and vastness of outer-space to render some of the most nightmarish - and some of the most inspiring - movie imagery to ever appear on a screen. Experiencing it in IMAX 3D made it almost too real for me to handle.
I implore absolutely everyone to go see this movie (preferably in 3D). If you don't, then you are doing yourself a grave disservice.
The only complaint I have is that I may never see anything like it again.
