kinda stupid.

I thought commissioner Loeb was in Maconi's pocket when Marconi was alive?
now a reboot and Loeb is an upstanding guy w/deep resolve and cant be bought/threatened to do something??

Don't remember what happened to Marconi but I assumed Loeb was still corrupt since why else would he get rid of Gordon and his partner.

It sucks when you have a major character leave suddenly but was Fish in the comics? The great thing about having a non-canonical character is that you can do whatever you want with them. My guess is that they knew Jada might bolt after her contract was up and that's why wrote the part the way they did.

I like the faux retro atmosphere of the show. All of the cars look like they're from the 60's but everyone has cell phones. It's an interesting contrast.

I'm also curious about the origin of bat cave according to the comics. Every portrayal I've ever seen in video has Bruce Wayne creating everything, or at least that's the implication.

the show dropped soooo many points in my eyes when they re-made Loeb with upstanding character.


fish killed Marconi.

fish is not in the comics.
they left the door open for fish to return, probably played by another character.

My mom always says that Gotham seems so bad and morbid of a city when we watch the show but I don't think so, I find it refreshing and it feels like the real world to me, she obviously doesn't hang out downtown here or with criminals much, go back to sewing in your little sheltered fake world of happiness mom! :awe:

2 non-corrupt cops would have been VERY helpful to Gordon in finding the Commissioners murderer.

Well that took a strange turn of events. Had so many characters building up to be the early version of those we know, and they go and kill most of them off in quick succession. Should be interesting on how it goes from here.

the show has turned into a comedic soap opera.

new tough police captain. where did he come from?
if he's so uncorruptable, why didn't Gordon know about him? why didn't Gordon serve under him instead of that chick?

the billionaire crimelord who wants to rebuild gotham because of revenge?
penguin doing his bidding because he has his mom? why doesnt penguin send Victor to torture this guy and get his mom back safe?

i think this new direction for the show sucks.

You know, I was thinking along the same lines... if the 'revenge' crime boss wants to get rid of Penguin, with no blow-back to him, then he needs to have a police connection...

Maybe Vic will be driving a semi again?

I haven't caught up this season yet. I have two more episodes on my DVR.

I just wanted to say that I absolutely love this Joker. He's, without question, the best Joker I've seen so far. Yes, that includes Heath Ledger's version.

I loved Heath Ledger's version of the Joker, but he wasn't as true to the comics as this kid is.

I love this version's whole story/origin so far and the experiences he's has had.

I'm really hoping Barbara doesn't become Harley Quinn. I was thinking that was what was gonna happen at the end of last season, but the red gloves and the way she sat on Jim after he got his ass kicked makes me think that's where they're taking her. If they do, that'd be really unfortunate.

1) they are are good guys but are all killed tradjectly, which affects Gordon.
2) the are bad guys in cahoots with the capt and picking out the best at the police academy was just a song and dance.

im thinking the Riddler's girlfriend will be Harley.

she has voices in her head, just like Riddler.
(but in the comics, riddler doesn't have voice in his head. I hate the show's transformation of the riddler. )

Does anyone know how the legalities of this series work out? Time Warner owns Batman and Murdoch owns Fox. So I'm curious how they can use something like the name 'Bruce Wayne' and get away with it. Or say the character The Penguin. They must have worked out some sort of deal, right?

I am sure they have some sort of paid agreement in place.

This is nothing compared to ... darn, forgot the name, but it had Capone (played by William Forsythe, and he nailed it) and that was one in the 90's. That was very brutal.
I think that was also on Fox. heh

He is doing some "training" now, but, needs 10+ years.
It is about Gotham City anyway, not Batman, at least, not yet.
