And Oscar Cobblepot meets his long lost Father, Elijah Van Dahl (Paul Reubens).

Been catching up on Hulu, and thus avoiding the thread for spoilers. It seemed to go off the rails, and be really rushed for bit, but then settled down in the last 3-4 episodes. I hope they don't pull that pacing again. It's like they've put four seasons of plot into two, for the sake of introducing a few more characters. That said, I did like how they introduced Mr. Freeze.

how does a girl that young have 4pack abs?!
Being a dancer. I will say, her acting has improved tremendously since the start of the show.

I actually like the pacing. It's nice having a season be full of story instead of what seems to be the normal strong start, slow middle, cliff hanger season finale. Plus the way the have the seasons set up it works well. Season 1 was sort of intro, season two villains take over, season three I would imagine we see the downfall of villains begin.

Azrael episode:

ok, so jim Gordon escapes from Blackgate prison.
he meets w/Hugo Strange. Hugo doesn't call the police and have him arrested?

Gordon meets with his former police captain. The captain doesn't arrest him on the spot?

did I miss something?!

Yeah, you missed an episode where they exonerate Jim and put the riddler in Blackgate prison in his place.

doh.. thought he was in jail for Galavan's murder.
forgot he got convicted of that police officer's murder.

and I guess w/galavan still alive and shown on live tv, the suspicion of him killing galavan is gone

This show is pretty much the best thing on at Monday night.
Plot has moved at a good pace as well.
I don't much care for the Batman kid though, I feel he is too annoying so far.

I'm surprised that they actually killed someone on the show. Or maybe they haven't and this will be one of tv's more memorable come backs. Hell, they're bringing Fish back but then her "death" wasn't nearly as spectacular.

Getting near the end of season 1. This is really a show about the Penguin, not Batman. Penguin is awesome!

Also, didn't realize he's the kid from the Walking Dead, from when Carol gets kicked out of the prison a few seasons ago. He's the first to go in Terminus!

lol.. reminded me of buffy vampire slayer tv series.
buffy is fighting an immortal smurf.
one of buffy's friends blows him up with a bazooka.

the smurf is still alive (?) but his body is in pieces and he gets resurrected later on?

Watching Red Hood right now (S1E17). Really liking how the show is going. Also appreciate the fact that there's 22 episodes per season, making it perfect for binge-watching (I miss you so much, Daredevil :(). They have a really likable cast (Fish, Penguin, the girl from Firefly, Ed Nigma, etc.) & fun stories. Their lighting & cinematography is amazing too.

I think the only thing they really struggle with is walking the line between a serious cop drama & a comic book show. I think they are growing into their shoes, however. Like one of the early episodes had the bad guys floating away on weather balloons, which is something you'd expect to see in a comic book, but not a dark drama like Gotham...it was just kind of silly. It didn't really fit the story, although they did a good job executing that storyline. But I just watched the circus episode where we met Robin's parents & they did a killer job on that...the son who murdered his mom, possibly setting him up to be the Joker, etc. I really like where they're going with the show.

One of my favorite things is the background you get on the characters. Like, I just watched the part where Gordon's old girlfriend came back to find Catwoman & Poison Ivy in her apartment, and she tried teaching Catwoman that her beauty can be a weapon...and while she wasn't buying it, you saw Poison Ivy in the background soaking that stuff up while trying on green dresses. It's fun to see developmental background on characters you've known for years, especially since they're not just coming out as "they're bad guys because they're bad", they have a history & a reason for being who they are. Like Poison Ivy lost her parents & has mental health issues & is growing up in a certain way that is guiding her to become the super-villain she will eventually turn into. Really cool

Smith sounded pretty confident that she was leaving the series for good, will be interested to see what happens to her now as the previews seemed to show her return looks to be as solid.
