I plan to get one when the AWB sunsets here in a few months, no sense dropping that kind of money prior to then.

Damn those are nice! How much did you pay and which one did you get? I got my AK at a local dealer for $468 in semi auto plus a 100 round drum mag for $50 and almost got this supressor but didnt have enough cash. Id like to lay my hands on one of them 5.56mils.

Is that a stamped or milled reciever? Mine is a milled bulgarian Ak, with railmount and muzzelbrake already on it. Ive since added a scope for the range, and will add a harrison bipod very soon.

I picked it up brand new for 600. Semi auto of course..

Looks like it's going to die too. It'll be interesting to see what effect this'll have on the firearms industry.

Im guessing they are gonna start to retool their machines soon. Hi-cap clips should be back in full force within a month of it ending. Other than that, it really hasn't done a whole lot. You can bet your ass many people are going to be throwing on collapsable stocks if possible. I'm just waiting for the Hi-cap clips myself...but if the Daley-Blog machine has their way in IL, I wont be able to even own my guns anymore. :|:|:|:|:|

Im sure there are plenty near Rockford. Down near Chicago there is Midwest Guns, Gun World (They are ass expensive though), MegaSports, those are just the ones I can name off the top of my head. Look into it a bit more. Check out Arsenals Website or Colts or your favorite gun maker, they usually have a list of dealers.

Just change out the reciever and it's good to go, but finding a full auto cabale reciever is not easy, nor cheap.

I own a freaking arsenal Sold the mini-Glock the other day, still haven't decided on a replacement.

Was just getting anxious cuz no one had flamed yet:)

wow, what is that bad boy on the top?

man, if i saw someone with something like that i'd get pretty nervous... then i'd consider how much that person might be compensating for something...

Nope not compensating (looks in shorts to double check)

It's a Savage 10FP in .308, Ultimate Varmit stock, Harris tilting bipod, el crappo Bushnell scope. I had a blast building it up. A lot of police officers do double duty as snipers, etc, if they have to buy their own gun, they pick the Savage. If the dept is paying for it they buy much more exotic stuff.

Savage Arms

MAN your collection looks SO SWEET.

I'd love to build a collection like that but in England we have a no gun law :(

And some other very sweet guns here :D

Yeah it's not like you can just file down a part like so many people believe. Have to have the right receiver and parts. And to get the receiver you'd have to get it legally, unless it was stolen or black market. So the argument of turning an AR15 into a full auto illegally is pretty moot.

What's SP1? I'm assuming its not 'Service Pack 1'. Is that the civilian equivalent of an M16A1? I never did get used to those triangle shaped guards...

And its weird seeing the small magazines in the AR15s. Just doesnt feel the same as the standard 30 round ones.

The Brady Bill is what bans high capacity magazines. I'm pretty sure that's not going away, right?

Not exactly, IIRC, the Brady bill made background checks mandatory for purchases through a FFL dealer.

The Assault Weapons Ban:
The federal assault weapons law, passed in 1994 as part of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, prohibits the manufacture, sale and importation of certain military-style, semi-automatic assault weapons and ammunition magazines that hold more than ten rounds. But the law will expire ("sunset") in September 2004 unless Congress and the President renew it. If the law is not reauthorized, the manufacture and sale of AK-47s, UZIs, other assault weapons, and high-capacity ammunition clips will once again be legal.
