You're a dipwad.... blame Obama?

"In fact, while it may seem harsh that the Environmental Protection Agency is penalizing them for failing to do the impossible, the agency is being lenient by the standards of the law, the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act."

I wasn't aware he was president in 2007

You are so socially awkward.. you speculate about what gas prices are going to be as much as the people who trade these commodities speculate they are going to be and their speculation again drives you speculate more. Endless loop of stupidity

It sounds like you should start buying oil contracts since you are so convinced the prices are going to go so high... but yet you won't. And let me guess, cause you know you are full of $h!t but you just can't figure out how to stop typing this crap?

He wasn't, he was a Senator. The original version that Obama also supported was even more onerous, the version that passed wasn't as bad, but still increased energy costs. Dipwad.

Legislation See also: List of bills sponsored by Barack Obama in the United States Senate

Senate bill sponsors Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Obama discussing the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act[69]Obama cosponsored the Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act.[70] He introduced two initiatives bearing his name: Lugar–Obama, which expanded the Nunn–Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons;[71] and the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006, which authorized the establishment of USAspending.gov, a web search engine on federal spending.[72] On June 3, 2008, Senator Obama—along with Senators Tom Carper, Tom Coburn, and John McCain—introduced follow-up legislation: Strengthening Transparency and Accountability in Federal Spending Act of 2008.[73]

Obama sponsored legislation that would have required nuclear plant owners to notify state and local authorities of radioactive leaks, but the bill failed to pass in the full Senate after being heavily modified in committee.[74] Regarding tort reform, Obama voted for the Class Action Fairness Act of 2005 and the FISA Amendments Act of 2008, which grants immunity from civil liability to telecommunications companies complicit with NSA warrantless wiretapping operations.[75]

Obama and U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar (R-IN) visit a Russian mobile launch-missile-dismantling facility in August 2005.[76]In December 2006, President Bush signed into law the Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act, marking the first federal legislation to be enacted with Obama as its primary sponsor.[77] In January 2007, Obama and Senator Feingold introduced a corporate jet provision to the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act, which was signed into law in September 2007.[78] Obama also introduced Deceptive Practices and Voter Intimidation Prevention Act, a bill to criminalize deceptive practices in federal elections,[79] and the Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007,[80] neither of which has been signed into law.

Later in 2007, Obama sponsored an amendment to the Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality-disorder military discharges.[81] This amendment passed the full Senate in the spring of 2008.[82] He sponsored the Iran Sanctions Enabling Act supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran's oil and gas industry, which has not passed committee; and co-sponsored legislation to reduce risks of nuclear terrorism.[83] Obama also sponsored a Senate amendment to the State Children's Health Insurance Program, providing one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries.[84]

Committees Obama held assignments on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations, Environment and Public Works and Veterans' Affairs through December 2006.[85] In January 2007, he left the Environment and Public Works committee and took additional assignments with Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.[86] He also became Chairman of the Senate's subcommittee on European Affairs.[87] As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. He met with Mahmoud Abbas before Abbas became President of the Palestinian Authority, and gave a speech at the University of Nairobi condemning corruption within the Kenyan government.[88]

Like I posted earlier above, 2nd Carrier Group has arrived in the Gulf

They are down playing the timing and significance of it of course

http://news.yahoo.com/u-military-moves-carriers-denies-iran-023925806.html

U.S. military moves carriers, denies Iran link

The U.S. military said on Wednesday that a new aircraft carrier strike group had arrived in the Arabian Sea and that another was on its way to the region, but denied any link to recent tensions with Iran and portrayed the movements as routine.

"I don't want to leave anybody with the impression that we're somehow (speeding) two carriers over there because we're concerned about what happened, you know, today in Iran. It's just not the case," said Captain John Kirby, a Pentagon spokesman.

It is "not unusual to have two carriers in the CENTCOM theater at the same time," a second U.S. military official said.

Another official said there had been two carriers in the Gulf region at least twice in the past 18 months.

Iran had warned the Stennis not to re-enter the Gulf and it is unclear when another U.S. carrier will enter Gulf waters. The Pentagon has suggested only that, sooner or later, a carrier will pass through the Strait of Hormuz into the Gulf.

"We routinely operate our ships - all of our ships, all of our types of ships - inside the Arabian Gulf and that will continue," Kirby said.

Not sure it this is nationwide or just Illinois statewide but order was given to secure all unused gas pumps either by ripping them out or boarding them up tightly.

They are getting ready.
Mcowned, please provide a link to this claim or else change its content to something that isn't a fabrication of your fantasy make believe world.

More on how much Republican hate everything that has to do with America.

They will destroy the Country and Constitution at every chance they get in the name of oil profits.

Republicans move to control Keystone approval

Congressional Republicans, who are urging President Barack Obama to give a permit to the Canada-to-Texas Keystone XL oil pipeline project, are working on a plan to take the reins of approval from the president should the White House say no.

Should Obama reject the pipeline, Senate Republicans would look at a bill that would force the go-ahead for work to begin, said Ryan Bernstein, an energy adviser to Hoeven, citing the powers given to Congress in the Constitution to regulate commerce with foreign nations.

"We believe that express authority in the Constitution gives Congress the ability to approve and move forward on such a project," Bernstein said in an interview.

The State Department, which has long held authority to oversee permits for cross-border pipelines, did not have immediate comment on the

Republican plan on Wednesday.

There has been constitutional debate in the past over whether authority for border crossing permits rests with the executive branch or Congress, said Patrick Parenteau, an environmental law professor at Vermont Law School.

"If we want to speculate, I guess there's going to have to be a constitutional show-down.

You're surprised? After what Pres. Obama did when he appointed those guys to the NLRB? I'm pretty sure we're going to see a Constitutional showdown in the next few years no matter what.

No doubt a lot more than a Constitutional showdown coming.

A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government. — George Washington

Key US oil supplier may cut off spigot Sunday

One of the biggest suppliers of oil to the United States may shut off the spigot this weekend, pushing crude and gasoline prices higher for Americans.

Nigeria, which supplies 8 percent of U.S. oil imports, could see production halted if striking workers walk off the job Sunday.

Do you think this may cause President Obama to let us get the oil from Canada then? Will he open the Keystone pipeline? How about the big OK to open ANWR?

It's ok Davy. Like you said, supply and demand has nothing to do with gas prices.

Are you going to deny the fact that there is overflowing oil all over the place?

Losing Nigeria's output would hardly put a dent in the tankers and full depot's that we have stacked up.
