Your picture proves his point

What point is that?

We are at $4 now in Chicago while rest of the country is at $3

When the rest of the country gets back to $4 obviously Chicago will be back to $5

I posted an article from a couple of days ago that said gas will be $5 so obviously it will be $6 in Chicago.

Highest gas prices in Los Angeles right now?

$4.79 in Santa Monica for regular unleaded.
http://www.losangelesgasprices.com/
Average? $3.74

If you type in Chicago it has nothing above $3.53 listed but to be fair it doesn't have the same "highest price" thing like it does for L.A. I'll let you google that though. Edit: Average is $3.67 at the top if you go to gasbuddy.com

Dave I don't think you know much about the internet. It's amazing what you can google. It's why you're getting creamed on these forums by everyone.

How long have you been driving for $5?

Has it ever come true?

Why is this time any different?

Exactly why these fuckers have to shut the fuck up.

Unless they can drive over here and look at the gas station marquee then they have no business saying shit.

OK

I'll use downtown LA as the benchmark then.

LA is close to $5, will be over $5 very shortly obviously.

So looks like LA is on a drive for $6
In fact, LA isn't even close to $4, but what's a 25% overestimate between friends.

Also, can you please stop posting 3-4 answers at a time, when it is more readable to put them all into a single response (if possible).

Lastly... "Exactly why these fuckers have to shut the fuck up." by definition fuckers will not shut the fuck up because it's what they do.

So you weren't here when it was $5

So why do you keep insisting that it didn't reach it when it did?
Highest AVERAGE (which is the relevant metric) price in Chicago ever was about $4.51 in April/May of this year.

You can see it for yourself. http://www.chicagogasprices.com/retail_price_chart.aspx

Nobody believes your claims without proof. They believe mine because I provide it time and again. If you can show that the average price of 87 gas in Chicago ever hit $5/gallon, ever in history, I will send you $20. Use a real link that has respected authority, please. I will put a crisp $20 in the mail for you or donate to the charity of your choosing.

One podunk station in the middle of nowhere or gouging people temporarily while others are much lower is irrelevant and nobody cares, which is why we discuss about average prices.

You are one those that has a problem with basic math.

Paying $4.79 is close enough to say paying $5 than saying paying $4.

Anyone other than people like you would agree.

You have a serious problem that you should have examined or resolved by going back to school to learn math.

I'll school you here for a bit.

Zero to 49 gets rounded down, 50 stays at a half, 51 to 99 gets rounded up.

If you can't comprehend that you have to go back to school, I can't help you.

But you pulled $4.79 out of your ass. LA is not even at $4. You don't round $3.74 to $5. Get educated, son.

Rounding Numbers

Rounding means reducing the digits in a number while trying to keep its value similar. The result is less accurate, but easier to use.

Example: 73 rounded to the nearest ten is 70, because 73 is closer to 70 than to 80.

How to Round Numbers

  • Decide which is the last digit to keep
  • Leave it the same if the next digit is less than 5 (this is called rounding down)
  • But increase it by 1 if the next digit is 5 or more (this is called rounding up)
Example: Round 74 to the nearest 10

  • We want to keep the "7" as it is in the 10s position
  • The next digit is "4" which is less than 5, so no change is needed to "7"
Answer: 70
(74 gets "rounded down")

Example: Round 86 to the nearest 10

  • We want to keep the "8"
  • The next digit is "6" which is 5 or more, so increase the "8" by 1 to "9"
Answer: 90
(86 gets "rounded up")

Sorry, I don't round numbers when dealing with exact measures. I know that you must do this or you would be proven wrong yet again Mr McOwned.

Well the people down town LA are paying $4.83 at this exact moment thanks to a link you found.

Went from $4.79 to $4.83 in just the few minutes of you lying your ass off about the price in Chicago.

At this rate they will certainly be back over $5 in California even before Chicago.

Thanks for the link again.
