No doubt a lot more than a Constitutional showdown coming.

A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government. — George Washington

The branch Davidians have been gone for a while, but there are plenty of other militia groups here in tx that would probably welcome you with open arms.

Dude, just quit it.

There is no supply problem, never has been, never will be.

There is a demand problem.

The demand oil thugs like you rape the public with greed.

I've never had any issue with you in the past, but this post reeks of ignorance. What do you know about running a large business such as an oil company? The whole concept of a (mostly) free market system like ours is that the corporation is supposed to maximize shareholder value. If you don't like that idea then there are plenty of current and historical examples of failed economic systems out there. Take your pick: planned economy, simple, barter, mercantilism, plus innumerable poorly implemented versions of many others. I don't blame you for railing against the price of oil btw, but look at our alternatives. Offer a better alternative rather than just whining about the way things are now.

Oh wow look a JR Junior straight from Texas itself protecting his corrupt Industry, color me surprised.

There is a huge difference between maximizing shareholder value and straight out corruption.

Again, surety of supply if you want to minimize geopolitical influence build pipelines so you can source from everywhere. . .
If the world was swimming in refined product they couldn't sell it for what they are asking

Fact is A there is lots of oil left B its getting harder and more expensive to extract C geopolitics/mother nature/accidents can further drives up prices in a tight market
EROEI was 100 to 1, now its 7-1 and dropping

$6 for downtown Chicago of course

Gas prices may get close to $5 in some spots

The new year has greeted Americans with the highest January gas prices ever, and some analysts say prices could get close to $5 a gallon in some areas during the warm-weather driving season.

Although U.S. demand is still lukewarm, American refineries are increasingly exporting gasoline abroad

"The U.S. consumer is competing with the emerging market consumer, namely Brazil, China, and India,"

Some cities could experience record prices by Memorial Day, GasBuddy says, with Chicago residents paying up to $4.95 a gallon and New Yorkers shelling out up to $4.55.

Oil climbs above $100

Oil leaped above $100 a barrel Tuesday due to renewed tensions over Iran and after Saudi Arabia, the world's largest exporter of the commodity, indicated it thinks prices should be kept around that level.

Oil prices rose after Saudi Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi told CNN that Saudi Arabia wanted to stabilize prices at $100 a barrel this year and was ready to pump more oil if needed, according to Victor Shum, an energy analyst with Purvin & Gertz in Singapore.

But the minister's comments also raised new tensions as Iran has warned Gulf nations not to make up any shortfall due to U.S.-led sanctions that are hampering its crude exports, Shum said.

Shum said Europe's continuing crisis could spark renewed volatility in oil prices but predicted crude could stay above $100 a barrel in the medium-term.

Oil prices were also boosted by a weaker dollar, which makes the commodity cheaper for investors using other currencies.

The reason behind record gas prices

Prices at the pump are at their highest ever for this time of year despite ample supplies

Likely to go even higher

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/gas-pump-prices-record-high-223313137.html

Gas pump prices at record high on supply concerns

Retail gasoline prices stay high on concerns about the Middle East and Europe

Americans aren't likely to find much relief from high prices at the gas pump as they go about paying their post-holiday bills.

Retail gas prices are at their highest levels ever for this time of year despite ample supplies and declining demand.

That's because tension in the Persian Gulf has kept crude oil prices around $100 per barrel for most of the month.

Drivers in California, Illinois and parts of the Northeast paid the highest prices

Analysts have speculated that the national average for gas could reach $4 per gallon by spring, ahead of the summer driving season.

When gas prices were high when Bush was president it was Bush's fault according to many, even thought that was not the case, yet when gas prices are high because of everything Obama has done no one even thinks of blaming Obama.

The stupid are stupid, and it is leading the world in a downward spiral. I am glad I am old.

You claim to be in Illinois.

Where is your pics of downtown Chicago stations to prove the articles and pics are wrong?

What is your personal motivation and gain to lie?

I'm sorry, I can't seem to find $5 gas in your picture. Perhaps you can try again.
