Gasoline at Highest Price Ever for This Time of Year

U.S. drivers are now paying more to fill up their gas tanks than they ever have at this time of year.

The national average price of retail gasoline posted its biggest one-day increase in 23 months on Friday, rising four cents to $3.46 a gallon, according to AAA. The average price has risen 13 cents -- a 4 percent increase -- in the past week.

Retail gasoline prices have also hit a new milestone.

"This is the highest price record for February 1st," says OPIS analyst Tom Kloza, who predicts the national average price of regular gasoline will climb a few more pennies to $3.50 a gallon this weekend.

"Refinery issues and speculation about refinery issues has with a lot of money betting on still higher gasoline prices," Kloza says.

Drill it out of the ground - super profit
Refine it - hardly any profit
Selling it - hardly any profit

Not everyone in the supply chain is raking in profits like Exxon and BP do.

I'm well aware of this as I've worked in refineries and offshore platforms throughout the world. The person you need to educate is McOwned.

and the world is witnessing you and your buds in the oil thug Industry getting paid more and more everyday to be more and more incompetent.

LMAO!!! Incompetent people get fired for inappropriate use of company property. Who's in an low paying job because of their past?.....Could that be ole incompetent Dave McOwned???

If I was incompetent or not doing my job I wouldn't be in my 23rd year with the company for whom I work. Nor would I been transferred to the Houston area or received two promotions in the last four years.

Energy will keep increase in price. And you cant blame any politicans for it. Its a growning demand from China, India etc. While we got a limited supply.

Start using less instead. Its not that hard. Then you also get less affected by any energy price changes.

Negative on the limited supply.

You apparently don't know that Gasoline is the number one export of the United States.

Try again and research before posting what you know nothing about and wind up posting bullshit.

Your thug Industry hides behind Billions and Billions in profits off the backs of hard working Americans.

Your thugs use excuse after excuse for "Refinery Issues" to raise prices all the while your Product is the number one export of the United States.

It is perfectly clear you are a master of incompetency with the level profits going ever higher and higher while claiming Refinery issues with the very equipment you claim to install and maintain with pride.

Your fraud and incompetency is in black in white in all your posts for the world to see.

Hopefully the American people will rise up against your thug Industry.

It's been building ever since 1973.

When prices surpass $5 this year on there way to $6 I am very confident your thug Industry will start to feel the wrath of the American people.

Enjoy it while you can.

Lookup supply and demand. Then lets talk when you understand the basics.

Lookup supply and demand.

Yes, look it up and learn something.

Does your little dinky Country even have a Refinery or are you enjoying your supply off the backs of us Americans?

Edit: Looks like you have one refinery

http://www.statoil.com/en/ouroperations/terminalsrefining/refinerykalundborg/pages/default.aspx

Hope they close that down on you, then cry supply and demand.

Edit 2:

It's even worse. You are another Texan, awash in Oil and Gas

You are a predator plain and simple. Take away your oil and you would be a little snivveling snit sitting in the corner crying for mommy.

Denmark as an oil and gas exporter

Black gold in Danish waters

Many people are surprised to learn that Denmark is a oil and gas exporting nation – albeit a small one. In 1962, A.P. Møller, the Danish shipping company, was awarded a licence to extract oil and gas from the Danish sector of the North Sea. The Danish Underground Consortium's oil explorations resulted in a first find in 1966, although it was to have no commercial significance. But in 1969, Norway discovered large petroleum deposits close to the Danish sector, and exploration intensified. Eventually, the discovery of the Dan and Gorm fields in the early 1970s saw the start of the Danish oil adventure". In 1972, the first Danish petroleum was extracted from the Dan field in the North Sea. The Gorm field, Denmark's most costly industrial project to date, was exploited from 1981. "

I know all about your thug Industry and the world is learning how predatory it is more and more everyday.

Keep pushing and watch what the people do.

They hopefully change to more efficient transportation. Else the "people" must be considered unintelligent.

I now know you came in here to support your fellow thug Industry insider.

So which one of those oil Companies do you work for over there?

Didn't take long to expose your ass did it.

Obviously you need to do your research more carefully. If anything I am a treehugger. And my posts show it.

Guess you ran out of argumentation.

That's not what your posts say.

You came in supporting Texas oil Industry thugs coming from an oil rich Country on the North Sea.

Try again.

Not at all. I advocated less usage. Americans are the most wasteful society on earth. And huge savings in living expenses can be archived by fixing that issue.

Its you however that wish status quo and refuses any change. So who is actually working for the oil lobby....

Our household dont even have a car. We use this instead:

Do you have a car? If you do, you must be an evil oil supporter!

Shintai: In Dave's world, everything is black and white. If you don't agree with him 100% on everything, you're the enemy.

If the subject is politics, then disagreeing with him makes you a right-wing fascist.

Economics? You're an "evil 1%er".

Gas prices? You're an "oil industry thug".

It's sort of like a child's cartoon, only more childish and simplistic.

How is he a master of incompetence and a thug at the same time if he's not only making money but also doing it legally? Only the best thugs can thug under a legal umbrella. The rest are under constant threat of the law.

Americans are using less than ever, in fact if you back posts in here you will see an article showing Americans are using 2001 level and dropping.

Your link doesn't work but that old argument again. Your country is not even the size of most states so how far do you have to go, less than a mile?

I drive a car that gets 35 mpg and a motorcycle that gets 67 mpg.

Like I said try again.
