I am not sure I will ever be back there for work...and it's too far to drive on a Sunday...2 hours 1 way.

Sweet! I used to make some pretty decent money fixing stuff like that...

Surveyor huh? You folks and your fucking stakes...do you realize how dammed difficult it is sometimes to run them ALL over? Put them in places where I can get to them with less trouble, will ya? ;)

Yes, over 30 years as a heavy equipment operator, mostly as a crane operator...but I've spent my time in dirt iron as well. I've been cussed by the surveyors a time or two for taking out the stakes, batter boards, even benchmarks...:D

BENCHMARKS!!!????? you SOB! ;)

Heh-heh...now you sound like the surveyors I used to work with! ;)
Nice, and they still let you drive?

I love watching those big machines.

heh-heh...yeah, good union. ;)

(hell, if I'd have been fired for that, the union would have backed the employer!)

It's still good, it's just a little bit damaged!

That'll buff right out.
Rub some dirt on it?

Yeah, several hundred cubic yards of dirt from the looks of it...maybe more. Can't tell from the pics.

The river is too deep to ford. You lose:

63 bullets
1 wagon axle
2 wagon wheels
4 oxen

I just lost it in the middle of the office.

I love that the guard rails are hanging in mid-air. I guess the pavement crumbled around the posts, and they are just driven into the ground, but not cemented to it in any meaningful way?

Yes, they are just driven into the ground. From what I hear, the guard rail posts were holding up the road for 30 or so minutes, then it let loose.

That's what I was thinking. At least the guard rails are still there. heh heh.

OP, I can be there by the end of the week with an excavator and dumptruck:)
I dunno about working in Canada though, license and bond are probably no good there.

Nice.

We have a surveyor, equipment operator, and me a Civil engineer. Lets do this ourselves.
