Well, we've been in Afghanistan for 18 years. Vietnam was a struggle, and it isn't like we left with a resounding victory. Also the U.S. government is US. Asking Americans to drop bombs and shoot at other Americans is not the same as all out war with another country. A good deal of the armed forces probably leans rights and wouldn't want to enforce an attack on the 2A. I think you're looking at this as too binary of a situation.
It was easy to buy into Trump. He puts America first, I appreciate that. The truth is, I think Trump is pretty good, but what pushes me in that direction more than anything is how far gone the left is today. I used to think I had the same values as them, then I realized that they are actually the oppressive group think promoters of racism today. I don't like that.
