Maybe your god can grant you serenity and wisdom to not be afraid of the scary gun monsters under your bed.
Given the incidence of gun violence, is that really an unreasonable concern? I know that the resident dipshit is likely to distract to something like 2nd hand smoke, but that risk has been mitigated by bans against smoking in most public places in most states. NRA members and other gun extremists OTOH are actively fighting to allow gun carry in all public places, even though there is no evidence that this reduces gun violence, and even over the objections of property owners who don't want patrons carrying in their establishments.
How then are these 'good guy' gun owners allowing those who choose not to carry guns to mitigate the risks of gun violence except by being dependent on those who do carry?
I have found that it is helpful to try to see both sides of any argument. The pro-2a argument is that law-abiding citizens should not lose their God-given rights as a citizen. I agree with this. But unfortunately, many of these pro-2a extremists also seem to expect this particular right to allow them to subjugate every non-gun owner into the status of 2nd-class citizens, entirely dependent and at the mercy of every gun owning 'patriot' for their safety. But of course, you just ignore that.
